  1. You can't do this. However, instead of using Value Signaling property nodes you could use User Events. You can even create a User Event that can be registered in the exact same event case as a Value Change event. The trick is to make the User Event data be a cluster with the exact same event data from the original event type. Then, the Source terminal on the event structure could be used to tell if it was a UI event or User Event. Attached is an example (LV2010). More importantly, though, why do you want to know the difference? User Event Overloads.vi

  2. There is a function in LabVIEW to retreive a reference to the socket. You can use this to manipulate the socket outside of LabVIEW. I used it to adjust the TCP buffer size. There is also a VI to return a UDP socket ref. See this NI forum link...

  3. Happy holidays everyone! I'm happy to announce that our family has grown bigger! (Actually, the main event was about a month ago but life moves by quickly). The newest addition to my family is Ella Rose! Hope everyone has a happy and safe holiday break!

  4. So to be clear, the question/answers are: "With a string, how do the modes differ?" Not at all, the mode setting is ignored. "Is there a difference in behavior of individual versus aggregate comparisons for scalar values?" No, the mode setting is ignored
