  1. That's true in most situations, but if the non-NI hardware you're using has a decent following and/or the manufacturer is smart, a driver may already exist - check out the NI repository by clicking on "Help">"Find Instrument Drivers" - you might be lucky
  2. I think what your actually after is a dstp connection, not a http connection?
  3. Oh yeah funky momma...
  4. Good idea - go for it!

  8. C'mon Laurent - I know you're speaking from experience
  9. Hey everyone - don't forget that you can rate a LAVA Code Repository submission! Just go to the LAVAcr page for it a click to rate it (1 to 5).
  10. Hint
  11. That's what I'm talkin' about - a really generic util that could accept plug-ins. I wouldn't want it added to the app builder, but I'd like a way to call whatever I wanted from the app builder instead...

    Hi folks

Are you a builder, or do you have no arms & legs and sit in the ocean?
  14. spin, charge, colour - pick whatever you like Now you're talking about a shit-load of energy!
  15. C'mon idx2 - you know I can't play favorites
  16. Heeey - it even fits the meter!
  17. Bring it on!
  18. In the words of Sting: "I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien, I'm a legal alien in [Detroit]"
  19. Sure does - and to help out those who haven't used this feature before: click in a numeric (or array position) control then use the up/down keyboard arrow. The value will increase/decrease based on where you clicked (ie: if the number in the control was, say, 1000, and you clicked on the tens column, then pressing hte up arrow would increment 1010, 1020, 1030, etc).
  20. Can yo upls tell us what the problem was and how you fixed it? That's how we all learn.
  21. I don't think it's part of DSC - I've got the Symbol Factory, but I don't have DSC installed... Are you sure you're looking in the Shared folder under National Instruments, and not one somewhere else (like under LabVIEW)?
  22. He doesn't look well - he needs a higher colour depth
  23. Yup - still there in 8.20. PS: check out "Long-haired freaky people need not apply" under the "Safety" section
  24. Mmmm - this VI has potential. It could be useful as a part of a tool that does a whole bunch of stuff to your VIs before you build, archive, etc. Perhaps as a component of the OpenG builder?
  25. "...the reality of unfriendly locals and scruffy streets..." - sooo many people warnged me about the arrogant Parisians, funnily enough, very few of them had actually been to Paris We found the locals to be fantastic - as long as you tried to communicate in French first, they were always happy to help out. Actually, I was in the Louvre doing an audio tour of French sculpture (highly recommened, by the way), and a lady approached me and said "is your aduio tour working?" - in English! I thought "how rude" - she's in a foreign country and just assumed that I spoke her language She could have, at least, learned how to ask if I knew English... Anyway - in summary, I found Parisians to be just as friendly as anywhere else I've been, so don't fall for the stories about their poor attitudes. Sure, some people may have had bad experieces, but I've found in my world travels that your experience is usually far more dependant on your attitude than anyone else's...
