  1. Since you got a CAR#, it looks like it is really a bug. Did not try everything I suggested this morning. At least you now have a workaround. Jens
  2. Hello, I don't think that this is a bug of LV. This happens in any newer version of LV with all fonts of a FP, as long as you do not set some font-settings in the ini-file of the application. LV then takes settings from windows desktop fonts. (e.g.: try to change font settings of Windows and look at the result). How to avoid: 1st possibility: set font options in ini file 2nd possibility: already change fonts of controls during programming. Jens
  3. Judging from the link you provided, I'd say you will not find this example in your current LV-version. The manual seems to be LV 5. The DAQ-driver in that time was what is now called traditional DAQ. The current (and much better) driver is now DAQmx. I suggest you have a look at the examples for data-aquisition which you can find inside the NI-example-finder. Jens BTW, why post the same question twice??
  4. ZITAT(Karissap @ Oct 31 2007, 11:27 PM) Interesting. Unfortunately my experience is completely different. Currently I do have installed LV8.2.1, which comes with NI-IMAQ-driver version 3.7.1. Still I cannot install the NI-USB-driver without the VISION package (as it is also stated on NI.com). Perhaps you had a version, where it was possible, but the current version always requires the NI Vision package to be installed. Jens
  5. How about: divide by 2, by 3, by 4, by 5, ... Jens
  6. ZITAT(crelf @ Oct 31 2007, 02:53 PM) @crelf: NO, we already had the discussion about NI-IMAQ for USB (see link below). ZITAT(zappa2 @ Oct 31 2007, 03:48 PM) Thnx Crelf, but I tried installing NI-IMAQ for USB Cameras and it keeps asking for NI Vision or the Vision Assitant that needs to be installed first. So can't even install Ni-IMAQ for USB Cameras. But maybe there is a way around this? NO, noway around. As already quoted in the link above (http://forums.lavag.org/index.php?showtopic=8441&view=findpost&p=32005) the NI-IMAQ for USB cameras will only work together WITH the Vision toolkit. The IVision library will work with most USB-webcams. Give it a try, the download is free, and it will run for sometime. Jens
  7. ZITAT(Ben @ Sep 25 2007, 07:59 PM) I will, as soon as I get it. Jens
  8. ZITAT(TobyD @ Sep 25 2007, 05:54 PM) I don't know if I would call it a "good" one? Anyway, forgot to mention, i tried it on Win XP Pro.
  9. I found another bug: Place an intensity graph, an intensity chart, or an mixed signal graph in a new FP. Then make the scale legend visible. Then try to activate the context menu of the scale legend (i.e. right mouse button click on scale legend). -> LabVIEW terminates itself. This has been reported to NI here in Germany, I'm still waiting for a CAR number. Jens Also posted at www.labviewforum.de
  10. ZITAT(Michael_Aivaliotis @ Sep 25 2007, 05:14 AM) Could be. But what do we want LabVIEW to be? A development system just for newbies? I hope, not! ZITAT(Michael_Aivaliotis @ Sep 25 2007, 05:14 AM) You can still hide the name if you edit the cluster, replace the text box with a classic control, shrink it down to a 1x1 pixel stub and slide it under the scaling buttons. My current workaround would be: Leave LV8.2.1 installed, create layout there, save it as *.ctl, then load that into LV8.5. But I do hope, NI changes this ASAP. So, consider also as part of my wish list for the next version! Jens
  11. Hello, usually I like to change the default layout of 2D-plots (like waveform graph, XY-graph, ...). Thus I'm very dissappointed that the following changes cannot be done anymore within LV8.5. In LV8.2.1 one could resize the width of a plot legend (of course after dissabling "Autosize plot legend"): In LV8.2.1 I could hide the scale name within the scale legend and even create a reference to the array of the scale legend: -> Anybody else who does not like this? Jens Also crossposted in german "www.labviewforum.de"
  12. Strange things happen with the plot legend of all 2D-graphs (like waveform-graph, XY-graph, ...). Place i.e. a waveform graph on front panel, disable "Autosize plot legend" and implement the following code: You would expect that nothing happens, but after one run, plot legend looks like this: Even stranger things happen if you now click on the right edge of the plot legend: Here the test-program: Download File:post-8741-1190629169.vi This has been accepted as a bug, CAR #4DK867QQ. This message is also posted on the german "www.labviewforum.de" Jens
  13. Hi, as far as I understand, you try to integrate a sine function. Did a test, as can be seen, looks perfectly normal to me: http://forums.lavag.org/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=6287 http://forums.lavag.org/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=6288 Integration of a sine yields a cosine. Even did a recheck by a numerical differention of the integral which yields the original sine function. Or do you want to integrate the sine function over one period? Also tried that one, yields zero as expected. Jens
  14. Hi, Nate, activate RMB on a string and select Hex Display instead of Normal Display. You can then input every character with its Hex-Value. Jens
  15. Perhaps I should restate my first answer: You cannot install the NI-USB camera driver without an already installed NI-Vision toolkit. See picture: http://forums.lavag.org/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=6204 BTW, that's also stated on NI-site: ZITAT That toolkit has to be bought from NI, if you want to use it for longer than the trial period. Sorry, Ich, that driver will not work without investing money. Jens
  16. Hi, although the NI-IMAQ for USB camera driver itself is free, you need the NI-Vision package (Version 7.1 or higher) for it to work. That package is NOT free, you have to buy it from NI in order to work. Jens
