  1. Welcome! From one new guy to the next! Brian
  2. QUOTE(rolfk @ Jun 30 2007, 02:30 AM) You're absolutely right, I was lumping this in with all the drag and drop additions that came with the Project Explorer in LabVIEW 8 (I actually just searched through the http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/371780a.pdf' target="_blank">Upgrade Notes to be sure ). thanks! Brian
  3. QUOTE(ASTDan @ Jun 29 2007, 02:32 PM) I'm sure you've seen this but open up LabVIEW and your MyPictures folder and drag and drop an image from MyPictures into the VI icon in the upper right. I believe this ability began with LabVIEW 8 (don't quote me on that though! ) With that kind of ability and google you can set any image out there as your icon. But still, you have a legitimate question as to having another collection of LabVIEW-like icons. It may exist but I really haven't searched so I'm not sure.... Brian
  4. QUOTE(superslug @ Jun 27 2007, 08:40 PM) Hi, I don't know if you've already found the answer but the shared variable does need to be network published in order to be bound to a front panel object. Check out this line from the LabVIEW Help on the Numeric Properties Dialog Box: "Shared Variable Engine (NI-PSP)—Windows Binds the object to a network-published project item or to a PSP data item on the network using the Shared Variable Engine." You can also use Datasocket to do essentially the same thing. Hope this helps! Brian
  5. QUOTE(yen @ Jun 21 2007, 11:30 AM) Wow, that was an enlightening 25 minutes reading all those posts. Hilarious. And reading Colin's other replies, I can tell I'll need to watch my step here..... Cheers!
  6. QUOTE Yea I took at a look at his initial post, we NI people must practice our introductions together :gathering: QUOTE (By the way, didn't Colin leave NI, recently -- I hope it wasn't because of us?) Yup, Colin moved back to Colorado to be with family. As far as known, LAVA was not a factor Thanks for the welcome, I'll definitely be around! Brian
  7. Hello everyone, I'd just like to introduce myself since I joined LAVA today. I have worked for National Instruments for three years. I currently manage portions of Developer Zone and NI's Beta Community on NI.com. I was formerly an Applications Engineer specializing in PXI and Modular Instruments. I also worked for a time in our Singapore branch. I'm very interested in how people are using LV in different industries and I hope to be able to give value to the community. Additionally, if you have any feedback on NI's Developer Zone or the Beta Community then please let me know! Have a great day! Brian
