dannyt
Hi, I have been searching for some info I remember being posted a while ago and I must say the on the whole the search feature works a whole lot better then the old LAVA 1 version did. However I have a request, could at some time we have an addition to the advance search so that the search words can be search all words search exact phrase search for one or more words cheers Dannyt Quote Link to comment
Michael Aivaliotis
However I have a request, could at some time we have an addition to the advance search so that the search words can be search all words search exact phrase search for one or more words To search all words add the + in front of a word. See here. By default it searches for one or more words. Not sure how to do exact phrase. I'll look into it and let you know. Quote Link to comment

dannyt
To search exact phrase use: "exact phrase" Hi Michael, I had tried the + for search for all words and it does not seem to be working for me, which I why I raised the question. The search "exact phrase" looks OK though. Using advanced search if I do "if subversion" I get the response ---> Your search for the term "if subversion" returned 4 results which look good. however if I do clearcase + subversion I get the response ---> Your search for the term clearcase subversion returned 261 results here the + seems to have been dropped and if you look at the results returned they include VI Property, Path Bug which only has clearcase LabVIEW Project IDE -Esclipes - LAVA and LabVIEW and OpenG on a network which does not appear to have either in it? What did the tortoise hide in its shell which only has subversion in it cheers Dannyt Quote Link to comment
Kevin Payne
I can confirm what Dannyt is seeing. The + function isn't behaving as an AND. Also trying to use a minus (-) to exclude words behaves in the opposite way and includes posts with the word you are trying to exclude. Quote Link to comment
Antoine Chalons
To search exact phrase use: "exact phrase" Hmmm.. Is it a joke... I was looking for an old thread about SMS and LabVIEW (I remembered I saw one on LAVA 1.0) - I first tried to search Send SMS in LAVA 2.0, no interesting results... - Then I googled site:lavag.org Send SMS, it found the thread I wanted but when clicking the link, it would only get me to LAVA 2.0 main forum page, google cache got some data though. - Then I saw this thread, and tried "Send SMS", and got the thread I was looking for... :-s So basically we should ALWAYS put brackets for the search to work fine.. I'm a bit confused! Quote Link to comment
dannyt
Hi Admins, Sorry to go on about this, but I am not yet clear about it. Do you consider the search function as it exists to be functioning correctly as expected in terms of the + (AND) option or if this a bug ? cheers Dannyt Quote Link to comment
