sorry if it's the false forum for this question. I search for Documentations for all available OpenG Packages and Tools, like Dictionary, Python Tools, Bird Eye Tool or other packages and tools.

1) Bird's Eye View

The Bird's Eye View utility is similar to NI navigation window. One of the differences is that it also work with older LV version (from 6.0 and up).

Once you launch it you should see the window below. Click on the Upper Left gliph to display the full window which has the configuration settings.

Once there click on the question mark button to display the help about the different options.

2) dictionnary

Drop a VI from the palette and look at the help window. click on the detailed help link.

A detailed help page will open in your web browser. At the bottom there is a button to open an example, click it.

Thank you PJM for this answer. Dictionary pack is ok, but your Birds eye dont works.

1) if I start this tool I get this error message.

2) I think the FP Bounds are not correct.

3) Than I change FP Bounds to appropriate and it starts, but in the next SubVI called by Birds Eye Tool I get following error message.

and the window shows invalid type.

Did you check this tool on more LV versions before releasing ?

Please upgrade to the latest (by doing a check network for package update in VIPM). Version 1.6 was not working with LV 8.x.

BTW, I never liked either option, but did you try using the navigation window (Window menu in 7.1, View menu in 8.x)? If I remember correctly it's faster than Bird's Eye View, but it's been a while since I used either of them.

I have never used navigation window because my VI are not larger as an monitor screen but I want all installed tools works. Probably I will use it in the future.

Eugen,

Please, look at the online documentation about Checking the Network for Available Packages.

Also, you might want to enable VIPM to automatically do that for you (Check for Pacakge Update on Startup).
