It looks like it's about a 2.39:1 - it's a common movie http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aspect_ratio_%28image%29' target="_blank">aspect ratio. Also, the ad was for Australian customers, so the original width would have been PAL (720 x 576), not NTSC (720 x 480).

If I'm correct that's a pretty standard routine in the beer industry. In a lot of countries they lower the amount of alcohol per beverage by lowering the alcohol%, or they size the beverages down (which is done in the Netherlands)

OK - this probably isn't going to win me many friends, but the alchohol content of that particular "beer" is irrelevant - did you notice the quotes there? IMO, it's not real beer anyway. It's swill whose main purpose is to stop Australians living in the south from rising up out of their trailer parks and making the rest of Australia look icky. I have it on very good authority that VB is, what we call in Australia, "recycled" beer - start with a vat of good beer (Tooheys Old is an excellent place to start), feed it to a horse or similar animal, and place a bucket under them while they're drinking - that's how VB is produced. Get the picture?

If that's the case, then the alcohol content is all the more important. They're obviously not drinking it for the taste.
