It is a very old idea back in the twenty a lot of car used fabric on wood frame.

The fabric was molesquine ( mole skin? ) , a lot of car had fabric roof as the very first Traction Citroen (all steel no wood) .

But the noise wad defeanning when this cars were at high speed .

The idea is very pleasant . And the new technicals fabric are very nice.

My father was in the US Army in the early 60s and referred to the canvas topped Citroen as a "flying http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shelter-half' rel='nofollow' target="_blank">shelter half". He was scared to death of these when driving around Paris.

I haven't heard that term in years... In the RAAF, we used to call shelter halves "hootchies" as well.
