[img=http://zs1.smbc-comics.com/comics/20091207.gif] If you're using the fancy full post page, there's a little button two over from the smilie face which will turn an image's URL into the proper BBCode.

That looks a lot like the Vista/W7 clock widget ...

Nah, I was just prodding for fun. I do recognize the situation you're describing. Invariably, there is going to a be a juror with a different perspective, moral or otherwise, that could hang a jury with the power of nullifcation. It's a sticky situation and it's hard to fairly balance the value of the perspectives of those involved. IMO, though, I think you'd only really run across this situation when there would be value in more closely examining the common conscience regarding the situation. ... I hope the reads as clearly as I thought it.
-
So, basically, we can't trust the average juror to use their conscience properly?

My understanding is that all of these documents were not released so much as leaked - either by hackers or a whistleblower - and found on some Russian FTP site. I think CRU very much intended to keep this stuff under wraps.

Hard Drive Serial Number
asbo replied to alexp123's topic in Application Builder, Installers and code distribution
I'll double-check when I get home tonight, but it's possible that I'm mixing up my experience with HD Tune between when I'm using my NDAS drive (ethernet based) versus a normal USB drive. As for administrator-ness, my personal accounts are always administrator so I can't comment - I'll check that too. -
If anything, we'll see logging capability sooner. Though, they do have a malware-oriented filtering service you can use through Firefox, if I recall. I may just submit to our new world leaders and get it over with ...

That's why occurrences get my vote -- the abandoned and derelict flow control method. Poor guy ...

I'd be very interested to see how that pans out for you. I currently use OpenDNS on my router. It has some pretty nifty filtering and logging features so clients on your network don't inadvertently run aground known malware sites. My biggest gripe, though, is that its URL suggestion functionality is *really* stupid. For example, it won't realize that when I type lavagorg into my address bar, I really meant lavag.org - TLD matching is not rocket science. :| I can't say I've ever really benchmarked any of my DNS services, though.
-
The NoScript extension for Firefox might allow some sort of matching. Otherwise, it'd take an update to forum software.

Would anyone be interested in a GreaseMonkey script? Should be pretty each to do. Otherwise, you could browse the site with JavaScript disabled

Large Test applications without large State Machines
asbo replied to jcarmody's topic in Application Design & Architecture
I suppose it would have been great of me to elaborate a bit more, huh? I've worked on projects that use both and I agree - a large list of subsequences feels a better than a large state machine. TestStand sequences do tend to feel a bit more ... well ... *sequenced.* It's easily to miss a step in a state machine and it can be a pain to track down - so I would definitely count the readability as significant. TestStand can be pretty powerful if your testing scenario can utilize features like process models. It can be a little harrowing to wrap your head around a complex TestStand set up at first, but it is a really flexible framework. I'm still not accustomed to it yet and have found myself writing VI code for something that could surely be accomplished in the sequence if I had the experience. -

Hard Drive Serial Number
asbo replied to alexp123's topic in Application Builder, Installers and code distribution
I was able to get the model of mine, but got a NULL for the serial. It's a Fujitsu MHW2160BH PL in a cheap Rosewill case. Flash drives probably won't work with this; my 8GB Cruzer Micro didn't give back a serial number. I haven't checked it with HD Tune, though (which always manages to give me serial numbers for my devices). -

Saved back to 8.2. Bring on the rep points .... GetDiskInfo-8.2.zip -
For us lowly users, I don't think so. I asked a moderator to check if he could and it doesn't seem that they can either. Upcoming premium member feature? There has to be a plugin for this somewhere

Was it a different model? I don't know that there's even an interface to pull something like a serial number for a machine's motherboard, which would make it impossible to generate a hardware ID based off that kind of information. I'll have to play around with Everest later ... Since Windows XP, Microsoft has used a variety of information to generate UIDs for activation purposes, including CPU IDs, CPU model, memory models, and so on. I don't think a same-model motherboard is a distinguishable, even for them, though. Edit: D'oh. Forgot that the BIOS probably has a serial burned in.

IMO, they're not *as* bad, but I find most times I'm inclined to use a flat sequence structure it's more appropriate to use subVIs.

Check for update function

And then if it's different, copy it and spin off a batch file to copy the updated executable into place. -
Good thought. Unfortunately, I didn't save what my old feed URL was, but I deleted mine and stuck a new one in (http://lavag.org/rss/forums/1-lava-forums/) and it works again. Wonder what broke ...

You said you're using IE8; I believe hooovahh and I use Firefox. Hmm ... Nope. Still presents for me in IE8.
