The symbols for items 39 and 40 are swapped in the Listbox Symbol Ring Constant. Please see the attached example VI and annotated screen-capture. This has been reported to NI in the latest beta program, so hopefully it will be fixed, shortly. http://forums.lavag.org/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=5304 http://forums.lavag.org/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=5305

Google Search Engine used for LAVA Search
Jim Kring replied to Michael Aivaliotis's topic in Site Feedback & Support
QUOTE(Michael_Aivaliotis @ Mar 26 2007, 11:38 AM) Works great! BTW, does LAVA get a cut of any of click-through revenue generated by the search results page? Thanks, -
QUOTE(crelf @ Mar 21 2007, 05:07 AM) Another issue that hasn't been mentioned yet is copyright. Syndication of content in its entirety seems to be a violation of copyright, if the blogger reserves all rights to their blog's content (as I do). Most blog aggregators (e.g., Technorati) simply quote a brief intro to an article (first fifty words or so) and then put a link to the actual blog article (on the blogger's site). I think that this latter approach is very acceptable, because it helps promote a blogger's site. Syndication of the entire blog article does not seem right, to me.

QUOTE(crelf @ Mar 22 2007, 08:03 AM) There is a forum feature (which is not currently enabled) that shows an "anonymous" checkbox on the log in screen. This option allows users to log in "anonymously", and as a result their name will not appear in the list of logged in users -- however, it seems that Michael has not enabled this setting. But, I don't see what the big fuss is. This is a community -- it's nice to know who is participating, even if they're just reading the same post as me.

Since this thread is quite an important piece of [wiki]LAVA[/wiki] history and legend, I have created a [wiki]LAVA[/wiki] Wiki entry for it, here.

QUOTE(Michael_Aivaliotis @ Mar 18 2007, 01:25 AM) Michael: I've noticed that there are no wiki links in old topics. It appears that the tags are added when the page is edited. Is there a way to add wiki links in old topics (rebuild wiki links)? Can this be done on a semi-regular basis (e.g., a cron job)?

QUOTE(Michael_Aivaliotis @ Mar 18 2007, 12:42 PM) Notification of every page edit is a feature that doesn't scale well. For example, can you imagine receiving an email for every page edit on Wikipedia? You would get emails faster than you could read them. A better feature might be to set up a custom email notification when any page that had a title or content that matched some search string criteria was edited. That way, you could be notified of things that you care about.

QUOTE(Michael_Aivaliotis @ Mar 18 2007, 12:24 PM) I just tested again. Here are some interesting results... At first, I could not edit any wiki pages. Then, after logging out and the logging in again, I could edit any wiki page. Problem solved, thanks.

QUOTE(Michael_Aivaliotis @ Mar 18 2007, 12:14 PM) That seems like a bug to me, but it's really only a corner case that probably won't affect us 99.9% of the time.

I tried to edit the [wiki]OpenG[/wiki] page and it said "This page has been locked to prevent editing." I could not edit the page, so... how when/how does this happen? how do I find out who has the lock? how do we unlock a page? Sorry in advance for not just reading the FAQ

QUOTE(Michael_Aivaliotis @ Mar 16 2007, 11:30 AM) There is a lot of content on the old OpenG TikiWiki, which is more fitting for LAVA. regexp problem - do my homework please...
Jim Kring replied to LAVA 1.0 Content's topic in LAVA Lounge
There are a variety of software applications (and some are free) for building & testing regular expressions that can quickly identify syntax and other problems. Try googling "regular expression software". Cheers, -
