  1. QUOTE(ÜLKÜCÜ_HAREKET @ Apr 19 2007, 05:17 AM) There's a handful of ways to do this: you could animate it in a picture control, or customise a numeric slide and replace the pointer with the image of the truck...

QUOTE(Nullllll @ Apr 19 2007, 03:31 AM) You can't expect to learn LabVIEW from LAVA - LAVA is here to help people that are having specific issues, not as a tutorial on how to use LabVIEW. Invest in a official NI course, do a free online course, buy a book, then, after you've learned the basics os the language, come back and ask specific questions.
  3. QUOTE(hooovahh @ Apr 18 2007, 01:20 AM) Since you work for the same "big hot shot company" that I do, I know that you're saying that with your tongue firmly in your cheek - but, in future, you might want to make it more obvious to other members of the list, otherwise your statements might be taken as sarcastic or belligerent as opposed to that of a dry wit.
  4. QUOTE(Aristos Queue @ Apr 16 2007, 01:52 PM) A green whistle? (...and that's why motorcycles don't have doors.) QUOTE(LV Punk @ Apr 16 2007, 10:58 PM) vi.lib\XNodeSupport\XNodeProjectRef.ctl Now we're talkin'!
  5. QUOTE(tcplomp @ Apr 16 2007, 08:06 PM) That's a pretty neat idea - instead of just the link to the full wiki, maybe there's an option for a small pop-up (say the first sentance of the wiki) when you hover over the link?
  6. QUOTE(chrisdavis @ Apr 16 2007, 12:25 PM) Did you like that? Try to pry doors open, that's my motto... QUOTE(chrisdavis @ Apr 16 2007, 12:25 PM) I figured you had thought of parsing the file itself. Yeah - I had, and it'll probably work just fine, but it means that users need to save their project files (or I need to programmatically do it for them) for my tool suite to work. I was hoping for something a little cleaner.
  7. QUOTE(BobHamburger @ Apr 16 2007, 10:56 AM) G'Day Bob - it's great to see you on LAVA!
  8. QUOTE(Aristos Queue @ Apr 16 2007, 10:45 AM) Bugger - I was hoping you weren't going to say that QUOTE(Aristos Queue @ Apr 16 2007, 10:45 AM) The project's UI is made to be plugged into, not made to be plugged in. Since you mention it, how do I plug in to the project UI? QUOTE(chrisdavis @ Apr 16 2007, 11:28 AM) The project file is just an XML file, so it could be parsed... Thanks Chris - that was going to be my backup if I couldn't get to the PE directly. Looks like it's my best option at this stage
  9. I'm putting together the next generation of the VI Engineering VISTA Tool Suite, and I'm radically changing the UI to include some usability components that newer versions of LabVIEW have exposed. Unfortunatley, there's one component that I don't find exposed: the Project Explorer. I'd like to include a PE 'container' on my FP and have the code react to user's clicking on it. Does anyone have any ideas? Here's a quick mock-up of what I'd like to see (it's not the final UI for the suite - just a representation of what I'd like to see at the node level ) http://forums.lavag.org/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=5521
  10. QUOTE(Tomi Maila @ Apr 15 2007, 08:10 AM) That's actually a pretty and simple description of what is a relatively ( ) complex topic...

  12. QUOTE(John Rouse @ Apr 14 2007, 04:03 AM) Whoa - that's a bit strong! Sure, they're a company that needs to make money (otherwise they won't be around for very long), but I've seen many many many examples of NI giving a hoot about their customers. I'm hoping that you wrote your post in an emotive state (as your "raw nerve" comments says). I strongly suggest you do some resaerch to find out why NI has opted for the SSP-only progam before you jump to conclusions like that...
  13. QUOTE(kings123 @ Apr 14 2007, 03:59 AM) Ask your question about being unable to install the toolkit http://forums.ni.com/ni/board?board.id=200' target="_blank">here.
  14. QUOTE(LV Punk @ Apr 14 2007, 04:13 AM) Unfortunately, I don't think ignoring a user works if you get the "-ALL OF LAVA-" RSS feed (?)
  15. QUOTE(steve m @ Apr 13 2007, 11:29 PM) Part scary, part cool - nice suggestion  That said - during dev, I'd ike it to be really obvious when a control is in a cluster like this...

  18. QUOTE(Sally @ Apr 13 2007, 10:22 PM) Right click on the control node on the block diagram and click create>reference. another option is to have the controls off the side of your interface and when the user clicks a show/hide button, resize the front panel to show.hide the controls.
  19. QUOTE(kings123 @ Apr 13 2007, 12:44 PM) I'm trying to help, so STOP SHOUTING! The inability to install the driver is where you should be looking - I'm not going to help you with the other DLL because I don't know it, and I suspect that you don't know it either. Tell me why you can't install NI IMAQ for USB Cameras.
  20. QUOTE(lavezza @ Apr 13 2007, 10:54 AM) That sounds better
  21. QUOTE(SciWare @ Apr 13 2007, 10:01 AM) QUOTE(SciWare @ Apr 13 2007, 10:01 AM) I just spoke to my rep, the only way for me to upgrade is to purchase a 1 year SSP. I knew NI were bringing in the SSP on all LabVIEW purchases, but I'd assumed that it wouldn't be until the next major release... It seems a little odd ot me that they would bring it in on a 0.0.x release.
  22. QUOTE(SciWare @ Apr 12 2007, 11:53 PM) Enjoying a shandy, are we? QUOTE I'll contact them in the morning, I'll wait till I discuss this with the rep before I download and try my existing serial. Yeah - have a chat with Jeremy - he'll sort it out.
  23. Is there a reason you're not using the NI-IMAQ for USB Camera driver that we suggested? Without a detailed knowledge of the dll you're using, then I can't help.
  24. QUOTE(EJW @ Apr 13 2007, 08:04 AM) Use http://www.ni.com/teststand' target="_blank">TestStand - don't even try to create a custom parallel test executive - you're wasting your time (it can be done sucessfully, but the time you spend on it is better used buying and learning TestStand).
