  1. Kudos! That may be true, but the exercises in LabVIEW Intermediate I are. Exactly, and you'll find it a whole lot easier to do that if you know the LabVIEW Intermediate I course front-to-back. I'm not saying that courses are always the answer, but, in this case, the certification exam was based heavily on the LabVIEW Intermediate I course, so you'd be doing yourself a disservice to ignore it.
  2. It might be nice if there were VIs in the API that mirrored those in the NI Report Generation Toolkit. Then it would be easier to migrate to an API that we can edit and expand as we need to.
  3. No idea what's going on - it works fine for me...
  4. Works for me in IE8. That said, occasionally it'll not load the page when I click "View article...", and you need to click the link again...
  5. Yeah - just format the drive
  6. Whilst they are usually thorwn by envorinment nodes, they can be thrown by anything - I use errors in that range all the time to represent errors thrown by my code and if I don't want to reserve a user code range.
  7. That is so true - I was hiking in the Rocky Mountains National Park a few months ago: it was a beautiful clear day, left at 6am, got back at 2pm, the clouds came out of nowhere at about 2:30pm
  8. Ahhhh - now that's different. Because it sounds like an all-in-one solution, there might be something odd in there. That said, I'd still go for it. Surely it backs up binary files, right? Okay, I'll stop calling you Shirley now.
  9. Right, and the same goes for the Z+ and Z- if you care about absolute measurements.
  10. It's a common issue, and it's not just limited to USB drives - sometimes if you edit a VI, save it, and get LabVIEW back to the "Getting Started" window, then try to delete the folder that the VI is in Windows won't let you - the workaround is to fully close LabVIEW.
  11. We're thorough OK, so error 1059 is "LabVIEW: Unexpected file type.", so maybe the file path that you're looking for isn't resolving properly. That said, error 66 is "LabVIEW: The network connection was closed by the peer." so it looks like the connection might be being refused for some reason.
  12. The channels are usually isolated differential so the + is the positive side and - is the negative side of the signal.
  13. I hiked the Kokoda Track in Papua New Guniea in honour of my grandfather who fought there in WW2. Damn near killed me - I can't imagine what it would have been like being shot at For those scoring at home: I did it in 5 days - I was a little fitter back then and had done a few months of training
  14. That's what I thought. So wouldn't that mean an IP address of "10.xx.xx.xx" that uses the real "x" strings" is actually invalid? The FTP VIs wouldn't be able to reslove the IP address that contains alpha characters. I'd also be careful of calling them "known bugs" unless you know that they are, ummm, known bugs. Do you have a reference to where they're listed as known bugs?
  15. Therefore I'm happy
  16. Let me proove my network protocol ignorance (not like it needs anymore proof ) - what is IP address 10.xx.xx.xx ? Is that the same as "localhost"?
  17. I don't think you can... ...but I'd be happy to be proved incorrect.
  18. Yeah - I'm with PaulG. on this one - a vi is a binary file, just like many other binary files types, and a backup program worth it's salt doesn't have about the format of the contents, just as long as it's 1s and 0s. That said, there are some backup programs that do internal incremental (ie: only save the differences within the files between backups), but this has nothing to do with copyright IMHO.
  19. Yes, I do still have a cricket bat and ball on my desk You're not surprised with the ODI outcome, are you?
  20. Well, I'm stumped
  21. So you mean US only or all WW1 veterans? This wikipedia article suggests otherwise.
  22. November 11th is not only US Veterans Day, but also the anniversary of Armistice Day, so I extend the good thoughts further than just the USA forces. Chris (RAAF 1SQN 21FLT)
  23. What about the port listing in MAX? Actually - I have an idea: can you please upload the VI that you're having the issues with (or, at least, a new VI with that control copied into it)?
  24. Can you please upload a screen shot of your port listing in MAX and a screenshot of the dropdown on your control?
