  1. Yep, the short story is that Zazzle wouldn't print the design from the back of the shirt due to copyright violations (the guy I spoke to seemed to be particularly highlighting those avatars that use Disney™ characters. So, late last night, Mike and I decided to take swift executive action and replace the back design with the modified awesome vugie design (I wanted to put spoolie on there, but I was over-ruled ). So, I'm sorry for the confusion, but you should be okay to order the new version of the t-shirt now.
  2. I hate to say it, but this is something you're going to have to live with, well only for a little while. My best guess is that when anyone replys first to a thread from LAVA 1.0 content, then the whole thread will come down. Subsequent replies to that thread shouldn't have this issue.
  3. Only if that code actually had an error that would show up - it's possible that the code in there, as far as LabVIEw is concerned, ran fine, but it produced unexpected results as far as the operation of the VI is was in is concerned. eg: put a VI in the enabled case of a disable structure that deletes all the files in your "My Documents" folder, then hide the structure: LabVIEW'll still run it...
  4. I'll beat them to it: that sounds accurate.
  5. You probably don't use the autotool either - shelia. It was probably code in the enabled case of a disable structure?

    NIWeek Beer tally

I have updated my tally in response.
  7. Ha! I found the issue: you need to add structuresFadeToDiagramBeneath=TRUE not structuresFadeToDiagramBeneath=FALSE (that's the example that's listed in the LabVIEWwiki).
  8. That's a good point.
  9. After much anticipation, the LAVA NI-Week 2009 T-Shirt is now available! Buy yours in the LAVA Store here.

    NIWeek Beer tally

Sounds like wishful thinking to me...
  11. Heeeeeey - it's not working in 8.6 for me either
  12. Just a quick reminder that this session will be presented at NI-Week: if there's anything in particular you'd like to see, we'd like to hear about it...
  13. Nope - you can schedule a local CLA, just like all the other exams. I couldn't agree more - sure, NI-Week certifications are cheaper, but you can do those at any NI office around the world. Also, if you attend an NI Developer Days sometime through the year, you can usually get your hands on a voucher that will give you $US 200 off any training or certification through the year. Random idea: enjoy the nightlife that Austin has to offer, and take up the opportunity to relax with other like-minded folks on 6th street (especially at the NI-Week LAVA/OpenG BBQ ), but, if you don't work well on little sleep, go back to the hotel relatively early as not to miss the next day's keynote. Some of the keynote items might be a little boring if you don't work in the area that they're adressing, but there's always a lot of really interesting stuff (and they're usually very entertaining too )
  14. Doing so doesn't add any \ characters to the string? That's a neat trick! Now all I need it a keyboard combination that switches the justification while I'm typing...
  15. Ohhhhh - I have no idea where the ROIs are saved. I'm the same as you - I would have expected them to be in the header info: if they're not there, then I don't know where they are... That's a great idea! The reason I use the DLL is because it's off-the-shelf, it works, which means I don't have to write or maintain it
  16. LabVIEWwiki.org to the rescue! There's a really neat undocumented labview.ini key that'll show hidden stuff (kinda grayed out): structuresFadeToDiagramBeneath I always leave it on - the only time it bothers me is when I'm typing in a string constant (like editing a format string) that's really long and it pushes the structure out as I'm typing. Other than that, I always use it.
  17. Yeah, I think you're right. That said, I'm hoping that we can get as many people to the NI-Week LAVA/OpenG BBQ as we did last year, so if you didn't come in '08, make sure you get your ticket for the '09 party. Have I mentioned the BBQ enough to be considered as a spammer yet? If not, let me know and I'll keep on postin'

    Mmmmmm steak...
  19. That totally sucks dude - I don't know what else to say.
  20. I hear that's a great book! The code I was talking about is here. It uses a DLL call, but it's wrapped so you don't have to worry about how to get the data in there.
  21. Because that's not unit testing, and you can't get traceable results from that style of adhoc testing. What you've described is debugging, not unit testing.
  22. Hmmmm. I wonder if we need to have the NI Unit Test framework work more tightly with NI Requirements Gateway...
  23. I remember there being talk a year or so ago of adding college flags too, as long as the members designed and uploaded them...
