  1. That's a stretch... Not important...I just think it's interesting. I see voting up a post as a way of thanking the poster for something useful, funny, etc. As it works right now I have no way of knowing who finds my posts interesting enough to award me with the greatest honor available to any single post on LAVA...the vote up! (Except for you Mr. Brooks...Thank you!...+1 from me )
  2. Click on the drop down arrow next to your name at the top of the page and select My Settings. Near the bottom of the page is a drop down to change the Forum Result Display. Is that what you are looking for. If not it might be in these setting pages somewhere.
  3. Over on the dark side it is possible to see who gave kudos to a post. You can also view various statistics about who you have kudoed the most, who has kudoed you the most, etc. Is it possible to see this info on LAVA as well? I would like to at least be able to see who "voted up" a post. Since we don't allow "voting down" a post, there is no risk of hurt feelings when person A sees that person B (whom they have always admired) is willfully and wantonly voting down every post that they make. Not that that would happen here. -Toby

    Windows 7

WOW! That's impressive! I was thinking maybe 2 or 3 - but 24 could be fun. I'm sure my wife won't mind if I take out a second mortgage on the house...

    Windows 7

True, but I always find it to be worth the effort. Things just seem to run better after a clean install. RAID would be cool - SSD RAID would be even more cool if you want to fork out the cash.

LV 8.5 does not officially support Windows 7, but chances are it will work. You might have some issues with drivers. Are you planning to upgrade Vista to 7 or format your hard drive and then install 7? I would recommend the latter. Then re-install LabVIEW. The compatibility list can be found here. You might want to watch this to see if the new LabVIEW 2009 will support Windows 7. There is a note that says:
  7. Cool project so far! Thanks for sharing it.
  8. I can't say that I have actually used it, but I showed it to a couple of co-workers for a laugh
  9. I'm to the point that I get annoyed if I have to code without it. That, to me, is the sign of a good tool.
  10. I just use the Boolean property node Colors[4]. You can use color box constants in the cluster rather than integers so it's easy to choose whatever color you desire (see image). If you don't care about the Boolean value and strictly want a color indicator then you only have to set the first color. ---
  11. I have found that I can speak very quietly and still get picked up. None of my co-workers have started calling me crazy yet, so I guess it's not bothering them. My favorite part of this tool is the ability to quickly align code and labels in any number of ways. It saves so much time - especially when dealing with other people's code who might not be as fastidious as I am in keeping things pretty.
  12. On your system exec.vi, set Wait until completion to false.
  13. I think you should upgrade to the new version of LV when it is released. You might like it
  14. If you use the radio button from the system palette, you get just that. It is a simple Boolean that looks like a radio button. You can define the logic yourself and make them work however you want them to. EDIT: I guess this is my first lesson in using the new Click to reply directly to this post feature of the RSS feeds. My feeds hadn't updated yet so I had not read all the replies before I posted. I'll have to watch for that
  15. I like that as well. The only thing I think is still missing is some way to identify when a quote ends and the reply begins. Some people (AQ ) like to remove all the white space when they reply to a post. This looks nicer when viewing online, but it makes it more difficult to read in RSS.
  16. Thanks! On a side note - I just noticed the new Category tags in the RSS feeds. Awesome!!! That's something I've wanted for a long time.
  17. I am using Outlook 2007 SP2 through an exchange server. I have about 10 rss feeds that I follow and none of the others have this issue. Also, I never saw this with LAVA 1.0. If I'm the only one seeing this then I might be tempted to believe it's on my end, but for now it still feels like something might be askew on that end. Anyone else noticing this strange behavior? Edit: I was just looking at the release notes for Outlook 2007 SP2 and they also mention fixing duplicate items in RSS feeds. There SP1 "fix" must not have worked. Perhaps the SP2 fix needs some more work as well?
  18. That was my guess in the beginning as well, but since then I have seen a few threads show up in their entirety in my RSS feed when a new reply is posted to the thread. These are not LAVA 1.0 threads - they are LAVA 2.0 threads that I had already read and deleted. I'm not sure what triggers them to be reposted - it does not happen to all of them - but there is something going on. EDIT: Just to illustrate this, the fact that I posted this reply triggered the entire thread to be reposted to my rss feed. Since I hadn't deleted the old posts yet, they showed up twice.
  19. I actually prefer it without the glow as well. Nice work!
  20. What do you mean you "just try to communicate". What command did you send to the unit?
  21. Thanks for starting my day off with a laugh...that's funny!
  22. Well, I thought this would be the year that I finally got to meet some of you face to face, but I just received notice that my travel plans have been canceled - something about budget cuts. Of course everything was approved a couple of weeks ago (travel and hotel already booked) but things can change pretty fast around here. I'd tell you all to have a beer for me, but I'm not really a drinker...so if you just want to have a root-beer one night but are worried about not feeling like part of the cool crowd, just raise your glass and say, "This ones for Toby!" I hope you all have a good time! -Toby
