What will you do if you were mine?

Just started to work in a new location 2 months ago; and met a guy from another team a month ago.

Talked to him for 5 mins the 1st time. In the following week, he looked for me everyday to help him get into our building. I understood he did not have the latest key card, so I helped him for a week

In the last 3 weeks, he almost came to my office everyday, and talked about stupid thing. Even me and my teammate were talking something important, we would just come and join. I was starting unhappy with this type of behavior.

In the last weekend, I was building a circuit in my office. He came again, I told him that " I am sorry I am very busy today and have not time to talk to you, how if we talk in the other day? " He said ok and left. 5 mins later, he came back, and told me " your boss is here today at his office" I was very unhappy and asked "what did you say?" And he know he should let me alone, so he said not to bother me.

Today, we met each other face to face, I thought we would say Hi at least. But he did not even look at me. I felt bad, I felt I did something wrong.

Have you ever met anyone like this?? What will you do?

It's not funny to be there.

Leave the KID alone. He is the guy with the problem.

Depending on the boss you have, you can talk to him.

Not to harm the KID but to inform your boss about the incident.

We have a saying about thins in norwegian, but it can't be translated. due to the double meaning of a word.

But in other words You can't make all people happy.

I agree with this. Your problem was to have somebody bother you and apparently, you fix it. Now you fill bad. You can see that as a problem an try to find a way to fix it (what you actually did here), but the guy is not necessarily in the solution.

If he is unhappy, HE have to find is own solution for that.

That said, I'm not a specialist.

I had a similar situation a while back. A coworker ("Fred") took a liking to our BS sessions and he would come in to my cube 1, 2, even 3x a day to shoot the breeze. I couldn't get him to shut up. He could go on for 20 minutes.wacko.gif

Seems I wasn't the only one in the department having problems with Fred. I brought it up to my boss and he diffused the situation. My boss would walk by my cube and if Fred was there he would say: "Hey, guys. Fred? What are you working on right now?" No more Fred. smile.gif

Depending on my mood at the moment if I had had to bring it up I might not have been as diplomatic. (Flashback to a scene in the movie "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" where Steve Martin just UNLOADS on John Candy about his incessant talking) ohmy.gif

I might have found myself in a similar situation as yours. Thanks to my boss's great management skills Fred and I still get along very well.
