george seifert
I started an installer build with LV 9.0.2 1.5 hours ago. I can't take anymore coffee breaks. I know builds take a ridiculously long time, but this is really nuts. I sure wish the build status window would actually show something. Mine has always been blank when building an installer. Does that happen to anyone else? George Edited October 23, 2009 by george seifert Quote Link to comment
Ryan Podsim
With out knowing what is going into the install it's hard to say how long it should take. But from what I've done it usually only takes a few minutes, that only includes the run-time engine though. Quote Link to comment
PaulG.
I started an installer build with LV 9.0.2 ... There is your first problem right there. Try building it in 8.6. Keep us updated. Quote Link to comment

After 2 hours I finally stopped it and restarted. This time it proceeded along and was waiting for input regarding the location of files (I hadn't run the installer since getting a new PC and loaded everything). I suspect the first time that that dialog box may have been hidden and that's what was holding things up. George Quote Link to comment

Ton Plomp
An installer built shouldn't take too long, it basically creates some script files and zips the files to be installed into a cab file. Should be quite trivial. Ton Quote Link to comment

asbo
Haven't met him yet. What does he do? George When the Alt-Tab window is not in use, Alt-Esc lowers a window, placing it at the bottom of the Z-order sequence. This sends it to the end of the list. Alt-Shift-Esc is equivalent to one Alt-Shift-Tab except that minimized windows are selected without being restored. ref Quote Link to comment
crelf
Alt+F4 is another great one to know (close active window). When I was at uni I had a CS professor that made us use Windows for a semester without mice. Annoying as hell when he did it, but one of the best things he could have done Quote Link to comment

hooovahh
Windows key+M is my best friend. It's "THE BOSS IS COMING!!!" key. I wonder how this is different than Windows key + D? Not that I want a hijack but Windows key + E? Windows key + R? Windows key + Pause/Break? Quote Link to comment
asbo
Windows key+M is my best friend. It's "THE BOSS IS COMING!!!" key. Windows+D is better - then you can pick up right where you left off. Quote Link to comment
