Norm Kirchner
In the snow like that all they need to do is pull the sounds from Empire Strikes Back droids communication on Hoth and you've got one eerie similarity. Quote Link to comment
orko
The way it started was rather Pythonic, I kept waiting for the Giant Foot to come down and crush it... When the guy kicked it was my favorite part. Almost too realistic movements... Quote Link to comment

Yair
QUOTE (Cmal @ Apr 1 2008, 07:19 PM) Take a look at the latest version! That was actually exactly what I thought when I saw the original - "that's probably just two guys!". To be fair to me, it does look that way from the side. QUOTE (orko @ Apr 1 2008, 06:21 PM) When the guy kicked it was my favorite part. If that's the way we treat our robots, I hope we never ever develop AI. Quote Link to comment
PaulG.
QUOTE (Yen @ Apr 2 2008, 01:19 PM) If that's the way we treat our robots, I hope we never ever develop AI. Maybe we should start thinking about implementing Asimov's Three Laws of Robotics. Imagine the look on a developer's face the first time he hits his robot out of frustration - and it hits him back. "You stupid bucket of bolts!" WHACK! (whrrrrr whrrrrr whrrrr) POW! Quote Link to comment

"You stupid bucket of bolts!" WHACK! (whrrrrr whrrrrr whrrrr) POW! Kicking the AI seems to be a common human reaction. Watch one of my videos on VI Shots of Anybots. There's a clip in there where Trevor Blackwell gives Monty a kick. Also, watch this other one where at the end I actually asked David Hanson about how we should be treating our robots. He's a pioneer in humanoid interaction. Quote Link to comment
Yair
QUOTE (PaulG. @ Apr 2 2008, 09:38 PM) Maybe we should start thinking about implementing Asimov's Three Laws of Robotics. Just as long as they don't run on any OS existing today. I wouldn't want them to fail because of the switch to daylight saving time or something like that. QUOTE Imagine the look on a developer's face the first time he hits his robot out of frustration - and it hits him back.
