  1. QUOTE(alfa @ Sep 10 2007, 03:48 PM) The Australian
  2. QUOTE(brianafischer @ Sep 9 2007, 08:38 AM) I've found that on a handful of cRIO and cDAQ devices - I figured that it was a limitation of the driver, and the reason it wasn't mentioned anywhere is because NI is working on "fixing" it in the next DAQ driver release (?)
  3. QUOTE(Michael_Aivaliotis @ Sep 8 2007, 01:14 PM) That means that I'll have to go outside and get a life
  4. QUOTE(crelf @ Sep 8 2007, 02:52 PM) OK - I got to the end of the first batch - I've got to go to bed now.
  5. QUOTE(Michael_Aivaliotis @ Sep 8 2007, 01:04 PM) can't... stop... playing...
  6. QUOTE(wbiker @ Sep 7 2007, 07:02 PM) There's a whole lot of things it could be - really, a lot. Make a little example from scratch - try to encapsulate the issue, then we can help (or you might find that you find the problem yourself).
  7. QUOTE(wbiker @ Sep 7 2007, 05:28 PM) Show us your code - we really can't diagnose the problem without it.

  9. QUOTE(xtaldaz @ Sep 7 2007, 07:36 AM) Too many options - I'm leaving that one alone...
  10. QUOTE(Dan Bookwalter @ Sep 2 2007, 05:29 AM) BOINC isn't just for looking for aliens - you can "...use the idle time on your computer (Windows, Mac, or Linux) to cure diseases, study global warming, discover pulsars, and do many other types of scientific research." You can even support multiple projects simultaneously. So if you're not interested in little green men, but are interested in climate predication, microfluidics, and/or quantum monte carlo simulations, the check the project root and the project list out.
  11. QUOTE(AnalogKid2DigitalMan @ Sep 7 2007, 03:16 AM) Veeeery soft... QUOTE(xtaldaz @ Sep 7 2007, 06:40 AM) As long as he shares the royalty check with me, I'm fine with it. ...and that would make you a pimp.

    QUOTE(Tomi Maila @ Sep 5 2007, 05:11 AM) It's so wrong, it's right... As Mike would say: "That's Hot!" Here's where the back-up dancers learned their craft: <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJj6d5QSYaE"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJj6d5QSYaE" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
  15. QUOTE(Jim Kring @ Aug 26 2007, 04:21 AM) I just back from a country with little internet connectivity, and this is what I get? (it was worth the wait...)
  16. QUOTE(BobHamburger @ Sep 5 2007, 02:58 AM) I dunno, I think the CLAD is good for college students, the CLD is good for engineers that have been in professional business for three or so years, and the CLA for engineers that are senior and have more than 5 years experience. That said, I'm not sure the recerts are very apparopriate, but I do like the original exams. Certification isn't about real-world issues, it's about the ability to use the tool, not be a good engineer. QUOTE(BobHamburger @ Sep 5 2007, 02:58 AM) It's very clear that these exams are authored by folks in Customer Education who have had little or no real programming or development experience with the tools upon which the tests are based. There's an excellent answer to this: contact NI customer education and offer to help. If you really want to further the certification process, then the NI customer education team are very open and keen to get outside assistance. Dave Corney is the guy to talk to: he's a LAVA Member, likes a good cup of English tea and is a very very approachable in my experience.
  17. QUOTE(Donald @ Sep 5 2007, 09:07 PM) That's a good one - can you please add it to http://wiki.lavag.org/LabVIEW_configuration_file.Execution_System' target="_blank">this LabVIEWwiki page?
  18. * Grid alignment - I have the grid on, but don't align automatically * Autowiring - Don't use it, it doesn't often wire up what I want * Autorouting - Don't use it, it doesn't often go the way I consider good style (but that's partly personal) * Autotool - couldn't live without it, hated it when it first came out, forced myself to use it for two weeks, first week was painful, got easier, now love it love it love it - and it's saved my TAB key from wearing out * Express VI configuration - Like the idea, don't like the implimentation. Well, not the implimentation per se, but I got burned by a handful of Express VIs that had absolutely horrendous code behind it. I had one that didn't *quite* do what I wanted so I opened it up, poked around for 5 minutes, closed it and quietly went about coding it myself. It's been a while, so perhaps it's time I went back and checked them out again...
  19. QUOTE(NormKirchner @ Sep 3 2007, 04:10 AM) What the hell were you doing in your bathroom that required such strong chemicals?!?! On second thought, forget I asked...
  20. QUOTE(Irene_he @ Aug 19 2007, 11:18 AM) We really really really missed you not being there this year Irene. It's true that we toasted, not to your spirit, but to you directly. We also appreciated the prizes we gave away on your behalf at the BBQ. I hope you'll be able to make it next year - our Queen of LAVA
  21. I think your best bet is to use scripting to find the property nodes and replace them with the shared varibles. I've never done it, but if you write it in a generic architecture, it shouldn't take you too long...
  22. QUOTE(PaulG. @ Aug 31 2007, 06:54 AM) It's not just the French dude... Here's some http://www.webcity.com.au/keating/' target="_blank">select quotes from a previous Prime Ministers of ours...
  23. QUOTE(Val Brown @ Aug 30 2007, 02:55 PM) I have it on, but I don't snap to it. I do use the alignment tools, but I'm old fashioned, and can move a FP node around with the arrow keys pretty damn quickly.
