  1. You're right, this has been done before, but your version is the best and most feature-rich example I've seen. Nice work!
  2. I like her - that girl's got moxy. Although I'm wishing I hadn't have donated all of those ribbons to here - Otherwise I would have reached the floor by now. Oh well, I guess I'll have to come back next year.
  3. No. Organizers of the BBQ are exempt from the prize pool. Note: I am not helping organize the BBQ this year, so I guess should be mine, right?....right?
  4. Yes, I am. Report to Moderator.
  5. I see absolutely nothing wrong with what you said - in fact, that's kind-of the point.
  6. We stopped looking at the post counts and started looking at the "likes" a few years ago - a much better outlook IMO. Quality, not quantity has been LAVA's credo since our launch. We stopped looking at the post counts and started looking at the "likes" a few years ago - a much better outlook IMO. Paid for posting? Barring a conflict-of-interest, that's super I hope you present your "Likes", and not just your post count It won't when some of our best members do that
  7. Ha! Just goes to show how little has changed
  8. Wow - that little thing can do impressive things!
  9. Repost from South East Michigan LabVIEW User Group mailing list:
  10. Well that was a whole lotta fun! I hope everyone enjoyed that as much as I did
  11. You can get an older pre-owned Mac mini pretty cheap. It's going to be slow and won't have the latest OS, but it might be good enough for what you're doing? PS: Don't forget to collect underpants.
  12. I don't know how to feel about this.
  13. No. The issue is that the connector pane's terminals have to be connected to controls/indicators on the front panel, so if you want to get data in/out through the connector pane, you need a front panel. If the connector pane and front panel could be decoupled, then most VIs wouldn't even need a front panel. But they aren't, so we're stuck with them. Maybe post on the LabVIEW Idea Exchange. Yes! I think VIs should have n front panels (where n could be 0). Think of a lot of websites: they have different "views" based on the client that's connected to them (desktop, mobile, etc). I think being able to define something similar in a VI could be helpful. Imagine a VI running on an RT system - you could have different front panels for different user security levels, client types, and more.
  14. Oh, I'm certainly not the target - my undergraduate was in physics,
  15. "The Big Bang Theory" is the worst show currently on television. No wait, that's "Glee". Ok, "The Big Bang Theory" is the *second* worst show currently on television.
  16. FWIW: I now really understand the benefit of automated diagram cleanup - it works wonderfully on the hundred or so VIs that I just created using scripting. Thank you NI!
  17. As is oft the case with xkcd, the mouse-over text is perfect.
  18. Go Sphero with V I Engineering, Inc.! We'll be giving away 2 Spheros - you can control them with your smartphone as a remote control, play games with it, and more! Sphero is an Orbotix Smart Robot on the inside and an opaque, high-impact polycarbonate shell on the outside. It's even waterproof. With speeds of up to 3ft per second and a 50ft plus range, Sphero's Bluetooth connection makes him ready to play as fast as you can launch an app Why would you say that?!? I'm in Michigan!
