  1. I'd appreciate a kudos or two over here.
  2. Asbestos, Canada: You can eat us, just don't breath us in!
  3. I'm with Ben - I'm pretty sure such a beast doesn't exist. Switches were kinda phased out before gig switches became commonplace, so there was never a need for them. I think you need to tell *them* that they don't *need* a hub, and a switch is what they really want (a switch, not a router).
  4. Yes - absolutely!
  5. As you all know, the transition from LAVA 1.0 to 2.0 hasn't been an easy one (in part, it's still not complete), and there's been a lot of requests to the moderators that old posts that lost author attributions. There's no easy way to do this, and the moderators currently have their hands full doing some other tasks behind the scene. So, unless you really really really need a post reattributed, it's probably not going to happen (and if it does, it'll be a long time before we can get to it).
  6. RT @jimkring: The new twitter integration on http://LAVAg.org is cool!

  7. That should work. I need more information - can you post a stripped-down version that demonstrates the problem?
  8. Loved the vid Yeah, unfortunately we didn't have a soft goalie on the opposing team Also, we don't really play "football" - we're more of a real-sport country.
  9. LAVA now has Twitter and Facebook integration: http://tinyurl.com/2fxn9b8

  10. Maybe use a wifi bridge/access point?
  11. It's not a stupid mistake - I think it's a bug that teh Array to spreadsheet primitive adds a line at the end.
  12. Can you post what you've already done so we can use it as a starting point?
  13. I usually just save off the control itself to a ctl file - you can do that programmatically through scripting.
  14. It does change twice - goes to true when the button is down and then back to false when the button is released. Anyway, I think it's better form to use "Mouse Up" <- this is the more accepted practise (allows the user to change their minds after the mouse down by dragging thier pointer off the button). There are exceptions to the rule though: use "Mouse Down" for links and anything that's related to stopping something so it happens as soon as possible.
  15. Also, don't get hung up on it being a desktop - I've exclusively used laptops (both Dell and Levono) for years and never thought about going back to a desktop for development. The newer Lenovos have docking stations with 4 (count 'em) monitor ports.
  16. www.viengineering.com
  17. When you say "without internet", can the both have ethernet cards that are linked? How about RS-232 (NI-VISA is really easy to use)? Or do you specifically need wireless? What sort of data are you transmitting? Rates/amounts?
  18. I swear that others were added in 8.2 (I remember it being a trivia competition question around that time) but I can't remember what was added...
  19. The easiest thing to do is use Heap Peek to hunt down the issue - have a look at this article on labviewwiki.org: http://labviewwiki.org/Insane_Objects

    Hazzaah!
  21. I don't know of any DAQ-hardware-added event - sorry Polling isn't too bad though, as long as you have a signficant wait between retries.
  22. I tried to once a few years ago, but was told that it's locked. That said, I wasn't trying to add anything to the LabVIEW preferences, I wanted to use the API in my own application (why re-invent the wheel?), but I ended up making my own with a LVOOP plug-in architecture. Maybe you'll have better luck since you're working with the LabVIEW preferences? Talk to Jeff Meisel at NI - he's the guy who's leading the charge for third-party add-on development.
  23. ...and you even gave LAVA a plug! Awesome - congrats!
  24. Yeah - I'm not a fan of the new format at all: I'd like to get the author info back (I already know that it's a LAVA thread - that's the feed I'm subscribed to), and I often read posts that are specifically from a particular group of members (this isn't a rule I can define ahead of time - it's something I do ad-hoc, and it's onle of the most valuable LAVA capabilities to me). and I want to see all posts. Otherwise, I'm going to miss out on the replies from that group of users (see above). The RSS feed is of little use to me in its current form. I'm not sure that "skyrocketing" is the correct term for the change in your productivity around the office... Seriously though, I'm the same. I've only visited LAVA a few times since the change, as it was new posts in my RSS feed that were driving me here. Another issue: how do we draw people with the RSS feed to this discussion? All they've seen is the first post, which is about how the feed lost the author info. That alone shows that it's not working for us.
  25. Hazaah! See you at the NI-Week LAVA BBQ
