  1. Was looking into creating a project template for our team using the new features added to LV2012. Before I dive in an start hacking away at it, I was wondering if anyone has created or found a wizard to automate the process a bit. The only doc on NI's site (http://www.ni.com/white-paper/14045/en) I could find made it looks like a rather tedious process to do this manually. I was actually surprised they would create this feature and not build a tool to guide you through the process of making your own template. thanks, -John
  2. Hi all ! Currently building a TS custom interface for one of my customer, I decided (this time) to manage user rights directly using TS user manager. Since I applied this solution, LV randomly crashes (or not crash) without giving any message that could help on resolving the issue. This is not the first time I create TS custom interfaces, but this time there are few new things compared to other HMI I built : newer LV | TS versions than usually (LV 2011 SP1.f2 and TS 2010 SP1.f1) user rights are managed using TS user manager For my user manager, I used a functional global to retain the TS engine reference and share through all functions I made to deal with user (I've built a library in order to reuse these functions later). Maybe this is not allowed... what do you think about it ?
  3. Anyone seen this before? Please explain what is in the red circle. Im having a problem: webserver can not start after running my exe After many builds I found that It is come down to one little vi that i used: Inverse matrix as shown in the attachments. If i open this vi for the first time it shows: localhost as shown then i close it, reopen the vi again and it is now changed to: my project/My Computer as shown I dont understand, can you explain? This is the main cause of the error that i have as attached. (i know this because if i remove this vi, my exe runs fine!)
  4. Hi All, My VI looks something like the one I am attaching. I am acquiring pressure data using a while loop. During data acquisition, I want to run a motorized pressure release valve for a few seconds (1-5 s) and then stop. But I don't want my main program (data acquisition) to stop just yet. That I will stop later through different control/logic. Is this easy to do? I had found a few programs online that stopped the whole system. But I want an independent loop to run within my main loop for a few seconds. Cheers, Saif EX_D.vi Also attached in 2009 version. EX_D.vi
  5. Hi All, I am stuck with a problem. I have a task whereby I am supplying 6V to a pressure sensor. This is supplied inside a while loop using a constant value of 6 -- "one sample on demand." At the same time I have to supply pulse width modulated (PWM) voltage to a pressure release valve. This valve is CLOSES (ON) on 4V and OPENS (OFF) at 0V. I kind of want to flap this valve (OPEN-CLOSE) at a certain rate to achieve a specified leakage in the the system. I used another channel of my DAQ Book and gave it simulated square wave. However, this requires the DAQ to be set at "continuous samples." So, there is a conflict. I tried to supply my 6V to the pressure using "continuous samples" but it failed. Also, I tried to configure the DAQ for simulated signal as "one sample on demand." Again it failed! Please see the VI attached. Is there a simple and consistent way to send the desired voltages to both devices? Thanks a lot! Saif Ex_9.vi
  6. Hi there, I am trying to implement a blood pressure (BP) monitor in Labview using NI 9239 and NI 9263. At this time, all I want is that the motor (pump) runs until a user-specified pressure is reached in the cuff. When that pressure is reached, the motor should stop but not the Labview program. As the cuff is deflating slowly through a pressure leakage valve, I want to record the pulses during cuff deflation. I used a switch statement. Gave it input from a comparator which compares the real-time pressure with user-set pressure. I put the DAQ Assistant inside this switch. I said to NI 9263, keep supplying my motor relay with rated voltage until the pressure is lower than the user-specified pressure. When this pressure exceed the user-specified pressure, I set the DAQ Assistant voltage to relay as zero, since I want the motor to stop. The above is OK. But when the cuff starts to deflate, again, the pressure becomes lower than the reference (user-defined) pressure. As a result the switch statement switches again and sends voltage to relay to run the motor again. I want something which can start off my supplying the relay with rated voltage to run the motor. As soon as real-time pressure exceeds user-defined pressure for the 1st time, I want the relay voltage to be set to zero, being unaffected by the fact that during cuff deflation, the real-time pressure will fall again below the reference pressure. I don't want the motor to run after it has pumped to a desired pressure, the first time. Thanks a lot! Saif
  7. Hi LAVA, This is my first post since joining the forum, so first of all hello to you all. It's a bit late really considering I have the exam tomorrow morning, but I did my last two practice exams this week for the ATM and Sprinkler system and thought I'd pop them up to see if anyone has some last minute feedback or wise words. Both are saved for LV 8.6. I've actually only been using LabVIEW for about 12 months and not as a full time developer, so I probably fall a bit short of the recommended experience, but the opportunity arose and I figured there's no harm in giving it a shot! Thanks in advance for any feedback or pointers... CLD Attempts 8.6.zip

  9. Hi Everyone, I'm using LabVIEW 2011 SP1 and am trying to use the "Import Web Service" to consume a WCF web service. I can connect to the service no problems, but when it comes to the window that lists the methods to import, there seems to be no methods available (even though I know there is). I've read on NI forums back in 2009 that WCF is not supported by the Import Web Service tool because it was written using .NET framework 3.0 (or prior), however, I'm using .NET framework 4.0. I would have hoped that NI would have updated this from 2-3 years ago. Does anybody know why the methods are missing? I know I can use a .NET dll, but that will take some more time...
  10. Hello. The group I'm working for is trying to establish a way for different users to access and experiment with our OPC server. The server itself is a Rockwell Automation RSLinx Classic OEM, and we're trying to figure out how to restrict the access users can have with it. We'd like them to be able to read and write to the server, but not anything else. I'm new to labVIEW, so I was wondering if there might be anything available here to limit access to the OPC server? Thanks.

  13. WebPanel, an open-source monitoring and control framework based on Javascript, SVG, and WebSocket, is launched at Evexia. The download includes the code originally posted on the LabVIEW, WebSockets, and SVG thread with some minor script improvements and the addition of some new elements (plus removal of some old, sorry). The included LabVIEW server has been brought up to version 2011. Here is a screenshot: As with the original version, this first released version is intended as a demonstration of using Javascript+WebSocket+SVG for remote monitoring and control. Prefabricated graphical objects are imported into an SVG template using Inkscape and arranged by the user in WYSIWYG fashion. The SVG template contains the necessary elements for loading the script and using the prefab elements. As with the original version, the demo server is written in LabVIEW. I am planning an open-source server probably based on jWebSocket and Java. I am also planning on creating a WebSocket subprotocol for binary data streaming. Obviously, the project is in transition right now. If you are interested, check back often both here and at Evexia. I will try to maintain the habit of posting new release information on this thread. if you are interested in contributing, message me. I have a subversion repository set up for the project that will remain at Evexia for the time being. In the future, it will probably move to a public, open-source hosting site. sm
