jgcode Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 That's unrelated to NI Week. The stats won't be that specific, but it actually occurs more frequently on 6th street... What on 6th Street? (I am guessing something spicy??)
Francois Normandin Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 What on 6th Street? (I am guessing something spicy??) Got StreetView? I guess you'll find out in a month or so.
jgcode Posted July 3, 2010 Report Posted July 3, 2010 Got StreetView? I guess you'll find out in a month or so. Yes, I tried and all I saw has a crow. Can you be a bit more specific, it seems like a long street?
Francois Normandin Posted July 3, 2010 Report Posted July 3, 2010 Yes, I tried and all I saw has a crow. Can you be a bit more specific, it seems like a long street? A crow? I admit some bars can be scary, but crows? It's way too hot for crows to stick around in August...
jgcode Posted July 3, 2010 Report Posted July 3, 2010 A crow? I admit some bars can be scary, but crows? It's way too hot for crows to stick around in August... Are all the areas in red, the ones you have passed out it???
Francois Normandin Posted July 4, 2010 Report Posted July 4, 2010 Are all the areas in red, the ones you have passed out it??? No, just the ones where you'll need to prove you've reached legal drinking age... Don't forget do bring your ID Jon.
crelf Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 Are all the areas in red, the ones you have passed out it??? Awww mate - 6th street is a blast - lot of booze and body shots (errr, so I hear... ) The "busrting into flames" is a reference to a "flaming Dr. Pepper", a 6th street staple - mmmmmmmmmm... Ticket purchased. In that case, I guess I better buy a ticket too...
jgcode Posted July 8, 2010 Report Posted July 8, 2010 Awww mate - 6th street is a blast - lot of booze and body shots (errr, so I hear... ) Ha! No need for the cover up - I have seen photos of this in the LAVA repository
Darren Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 I'm in, and my Durango seats 7. Who's riding shotgun?
jgcode Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 I'm in, and my Durango seats 7. Who's riding shotgun? Put me down (if ok), I would appreciate hanging with the natives to find the best local water hole.
crelf Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 I'm in, and my Durango seats 7. Who's riding shotgun? Maybe we'll need a marshalling area on Trinity
pallen Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 So cold that you'll see most people wearing pants on a sunny 110F day! Pants. Sometimes they're a good thing.
pallen Posted July 15, 2010 Report Posted July 15, 2010 I think I'm all signed up now. ( Hopefully my PayPal is still working ) Looks like a bit of a walk from my hotel. But I really enjoyed walking around Austin the last time I was there. Went down to watch the bats all fly out from under the bridge one night. That was pretty cool. I'd suggest getting yourself some of that Neutrogena sunscreen with the Helioplex in it. Hopefully I can find the stuff down there, since I'm guessing that I won't be able to bring any with me on the flight due to restrictions and what not. But I just spent three days camping in basically an open field in the blazing sun, and I didn't even get a little sunburned.
Aristos Queue Posted July 16, 2010 Report Posted July 16, 2010 Pants. Sometimes they're a good thing. I really do have to put my money together, bite the bullet, and actually buy one of the Austin Utilikilts that I've been eyeing the last couple years.
jgcode Posted July 16, 2010 Report Posted July 16, 2010 ....buy one of the Austin Utilikilts.... The Workman skirt would be handy for going onsite with tools It takes a real man to wear a skirt...
altenbach Posted July 16, 2010 Report Posted July 16, 2010 OK, I'm all signed up! According to Google maps, it's exactly 1 mile, or about a 21 minute walk from the conference center. I'll walk! Nothing better after sitting in sessions all day! Besides, we'll be hungrier later.
Ed Dickens Posted July 16, 2010 Report Posted July 16, 2010 I finally got around to signing up. We've decided to drive down this year, so we will have a vehichle and could take 2 or 3 others.
altenbach Posted July 16, 2010 Report Posted July 16, 2010 Ed, If it rains heavily, count me in. Else i'd rather walk
Val Brown Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 Ed, If it rains heavily, count me in. Else i'd rather walk space still available? I'm going to try to do the PayPal thing tomorrow.
Cat Posted July 20, 2010 Report Posted July 20, 2010 I'd love a ride to the BBQ, if anyone has room in their vehicle. Or to share a cab. This northern girl will melt in the heat if I have to walk too far in 110F weather.
Fab Posted July 29, 2010 Report Posted July 29, 2010 I'm in! I just got my ticket. I can give a ride from the convention center to the BBQ to 4 people. 1
Michael Aivaliotis Posted July 30, 2010 Report Posted July 30, 2010 I went to http://www.capmetro.org and found a bus that leaves from 6th street. 1
JimSmart Posted July 30, 2010 Report Posted July 30, 2010 I'm in! I just got my ticket. I can give a ride from the convention center to the BBQ to 4 people. I'd like to get a ride if I could. PM sent.
Val Brown Posted July 31, 2010 Report Posted July 31, 2010 I'd like to get a ride if I could. PM sent. Me too.
