Neil Pate Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 Hi All, I am trying to get a new PC back up to a usable state (installing software etc). Am having some trouble accessing the NI.com FTP site. Using filezilla I can access ftp.ni.com with no problems, but cannot get find support/softlib where the juicy bits get downloaded from. As I said this is a new PC so I had to create the FTP connection from memory, have I done something stupid like not put the right authentication or something? Quote
LogMAN Posted September 14, 2015 Report Posted September 14, 2015 (edited) Hi Neil, please use this link: http://download.ni.com/evaluation/labview/ekit/other/downloader/You'll find all downloader/installer there. The softlib is no longer available. EDIT: Almost forgot this also works with ftp: ftp://ftp.ni.com/evaluation/labview/ekit/other/downloader/ Edited September 14, 2015 by LogMAN Quote
Neil Pate Posted September 14, 2015 Author Report Posted September 14, 2015 Yeah I want to try and use FTP to download things like DAQmx without having to go through the NI downloader which I find gets quite choked sometimes. Thanks for the FTP link, that will be useful for LabVIEW related stuff. Quote
hooovahh Posted September 14, 2015 Report Posted September 14, 2015 I was resistant to the NI Downloader at first. Why do I need another application doing who knows what? There are several downloaders (I'm looking at you CNET) that download crapware that you need to make sure you don't install and I guess I thought it would be like that. But the NI ones seem to work well, resume has never been an issue, and I've noticed it resumes after a restart too. But of course if you need to use FTP they won't work. Quote
JKSH Posted September 14, 2015 Report Posted September 14, 2015 (edited) Yeah I want to try and use FTP to download things like DAQmx without having to go through the NI downloader NI's website provides a direct download too, bypassing the NI Downloader. For example, go to http://www.ni.com/download/ni-daqmx-15.0.1/5353/en/ and look for "Standard Download". Funnily enough, it links to "support/softlib" via HTTP: http://ftp.ni.com/support/softlib/multifunction_daq/nidaqmx/15.0.1/NIDAQ1501f3.exe I like to Google for the version I want, and then use a download accelerator on the direct download. Google's search operators make it easy to find things (no need navigate the folder hierarchy). For example, type "site:ni.com/download DAQmx" or "site:ni.com/download DAQmx 15" into Google and see what you get. Edited September 14, 2015 by JKSH Quote
