Bluncken Posted April 4, 2008 Report Posted April 4, 2008 Hello! I'm quite new to LabVIEW and are searching for information about the standard state machines. How to make them and so on. Anyone have any good suggestions of books? Or any links in their collection that thew are willing to share? Quote
Phillip Brooks Posted April 4, 2008 Report Posted April 4, 2008 Welcome to the LAVA forums! I would suggest that you start by looking at the examples and templates included with the more recent versions of LabVIEW. You can also refer to the wiki pages here on LAVA, specifically: http://wiki.lavag.org/State_Machine Quote
PaulG. Posted April 4, 2008 Report Posted April 4, 2008 A quick search of NI's Developer Zone: http://search.ni.com/nisearch/main/p/sn/ca...State%20Machine Should give you plenty to read. Quote
pallen Posted April 4, 2008 Report Posted April 4, 2008 Hey there, You've already got the good links. But also have a search for Statechart on the NI site. It's an add-on toolkit for LabVIEW that you might find useful. I'm still learning the in's and out's of it at the moment. But I really liked the State Diagram Toolkit that this new tool is replacing. It helped visualize program flow at a higher level during initial development, and made it easier to understand completed programs that others had made. LabVIEW also has a Standard State Machine Template that you can use by clicking "New" and selecting it from the "Frameworks" menu. Quote
LAVA 1.0 Content Posted April 4, 2008 Report Posted April 4, 2008 QUOTE (pallen @ Apr 3 2008, 10:28 AM) ... But I really liked the State Diagram Toolkit that this new tool is replacing.... Although the SDE does was replaced in the Add-ons disk by the SC, the SDE is still available if ordered sperately. I get the feeling that NI would like the SDE to just go away. Ben Quote
dsachau Posted April 4, 2008 Report Posted April 4, 2008 Bloomy Controls has a nice state machine template here. Quote
