Francois Normandin
QUOTE (Steen Schmidt @ Apr 7 2009, 03:40 PM) I haven't checked since 8.5.1, but I hope NI is abandoning the current PW scheme, since it's fairly shot through with the newly exposed MD5 vulnerabilities.Cheers, Steen Hi Steen, do you have any reference to what you're saying about newly exposed vulnerabilities. I'm no cryptography expert but I thought the vulnerability was through usage of rainbow tables that could be compared to the hash. This vulnerability was mute if one were to encrypt recursively, use a password longer than 14 characters, or use "salt". Are you talking about something else? Quote Link to comment
Sparkette
Just to set things straight -- my profile says nowhere that I'm 16. I'm 15 (at the time of writing) and I don't know where you got 16. Quote Link to comment
Jim Kring
QUOTE (flarn2006 @ Apr 7 2009, 03:36 PM) Just to set things straight -- my profile says nowhere that I'm 16. I'm 15 (at the time of writing) and I don't know where you got 16. You remind me a lot of myself, when I started using LabVIEW at 19 (and, that's mostly a compliment) My advice is to be respectful of software security features and the companies that depend upon them (whether they are vendors or customers of those features). Some day, you'll probably end up benefiting from it and thanking yourself. BTW, I wrote http://thinkinging.com/2007/08/19/password-protecting-vis-is-security-through-obscurity/' rel='nofollow' target="_blank">an article, a while ago, about password protected VIs (but, I don't discuss how to circumvent them). You might find it interesting. Good luck, -Jim Quote Link to comment
Yair
QUOTE (Aristos Queue @ Apr 7 2009, 08:48 AM) By high school, I was programming around 2 to 3 hours every day on my own I also started programming at a young age, so I understand the issues. I have no problem at all with taking things apart to understand how they work. I was only expressing interest since you don't exactly get a lot of teenagers around here. QUOTE (flarn2006 @ Apr 8 2009, 01:36 AM) I'm 15 (at the time of writing) and I don't know where you got 16. I wasn't looking at your profile. Your avatar has a date and I was just wondering if that was really your birthday which would make you around 16 (and 15 or 16 is the same to me for the purposes of this discussion). It's a 6.6% error... very significative when you're so youthful. I remember having a one year difference with a girlfriend at this age: boy was she mature! Quote Link to comment

hooovahh
Well to be fair a 16 year old dating a 15 year old does pass the /2 + 7 guy rule, but that starts to fall apart as you get younger it's really meant for the 50 some things who want to date 18 year olds. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?...y%202%20add%207 Quote Link to comment

At that age at least Later it tends to equalize and a year also tends to mean less and less. QUOTE Way to go off-topic. That is always as threads get longer.
