  1. This could return a false positive if you run it on a class which doesn't inherit from your base class and has a VI with the same name, but I'm assuming you won't do that.

  2. If their drivers are in the form of DLLs then you can use an external code node to call them. That usually works pretty well.

  3. If this is true close LabVIEW entirely to ensure that it isn't holding the resource. This isn't always necessary but if cleanup is not done properly this can be an issue.
