Not to hijack the thread, but not at all. Of course, there is some desolation, and some industrial areas, but it's got some amazing jazz bars and a great nightlife. Idea: if any LAVA members come to the south-east Michigan area, I extend an open invitation to a few days of great micro-brews, jazz bars, resturants, theatres, baseball, basketball, art museums, hockey, history, automation, parks, and maybe even a romantic walk along the river front
