    PXI Memory UPgrade

QUOTE (EJW @ Jun 17 2008, 02:37 PM) I *believe* that it is indeed standard laptop memory, but I'm not sure how putting in third-party RAM would effect your NI warranty...
  8. QUOTE (PaulG. @ Jun 17 2008, 02:24 PM) Love the term!

    Hello!

QUOTE (irpotential @ Jun 17 2008, 01:15 PM) Physics Rocks!
  10. Normal VI's have a File > Disconnect from Library menu item, but polymorphic VIs don't. If a poly is part of a lvlib, and the lvlib is deleted, the poly is broken with a "This VI is connected with a library that LabVIEW cannot find. Find and load the library or select File»Disconnect from Library" message. I don't have the original lvlib, and there's no File > Disconnect from Library menu item - how do I fix my poly? Solution: save it under a new name - the new copy will be disconnected from the lvlib. I'd call that a bug.
  11. QUOTE (neB @ Jun 16 2008, 01:36 PM) I'll put it on my calendar
  12. QUOTE (ACS @ Jun 16 2008, 12:12 PM) What's NI-Week without the LAVA BBQ?!? Glad to hear you're enthusiastic Yes, there will be a LAVA BBQ - we're currently negotiating the finer details - look for a notice later this week...
  13. QUOTE (neB @ Jun 16 2008, 09:05 AM) I have, but I'm not sure what that has to do with my post...
  14. QUOTE (TobyD @ Jun 16 2008, 10:00 AM) Fixed now - thanks PJM for pointing me to the right one. QUOTE (jgcode @ Jun 16 2008, 10:27 AM) Goddammit - I am already there! Wow - so your flight is even cheaper! Maybe you could get a reverse return and spend some time over here? I'll be in Oz around that time - my sister's getting married a *day* before those airfares go into effect Maybe she can postpone it a week...

    QUOTE (FLAnatic @ Jun 16 2008, 08:31 AM) That's a good parable.
  16. QUOTE (neB @ Jun 16 2008, 08:38 AM) ...but it doesn't count if you're actually trying to close the topic.
  17. On closer inspection, I think you're right - there should be a coercion dot there...
  18. QUOTE (bjsprem @ Jun 16 2008, 03:25 AM) ...a long way from there.
  19. Just as it's getting cold over here in the US, it's getting warm over there, so if you need somewhere to go at the start of winter, here's an unbeleivable deal to get yourself downunder for a few weeks (and fly on an A380!): QANTAS A380 Launch Deals Flights from LA to Sydney are usually around the $2,000 mark - this special discounts them to $380. Don't wait too long - this is a 48 hours sale (or until sold out - and I expect that'll happen quickly).
  20. QUOTE (PaulG. @ Jun 3 2008, 04:48 PM) Yeah - it's amazing what you can do when a pressure like a budget is removed as a limitation to innovation. It's a pity that the motivation came from war-mamed guys/gals in the first place.
  21. QUOTE (Yen @ Jun 15 2008, 02:22 PM) Not to hijack the thread, but not at all. Of course, there is some desolation, and some industrial areas, but it's got some amazing jazz bars and a great nightlife. Sure, it's not quite as bland as other cities can be, but I like a little grit The general perception of Detroit is mostly out of date, to say the least. Idea: if any LAVA members come to the south-east Michigan area, I extend an open invitation to a few days of great micro-brews, jazz bars, resturants, theatres, baseball, basketball, art museums, hockey, history, automation, parks, and maybe even a romantic walk along the river front There's a gah-zillion other great things here in south-east Michigan - come see them for yourself! 22. QUOTE (Jim Kring @ Jun 15 2008, 01:59 PM) You can cash them in http://mdesmond.com/end-of-the-internet/' rel='nofollow' target="_blank">here...
  23. QUOTE (Yen @ Jun 15 2008, 01:19 PM) Yep - it's definately minor. My Rhodes MK-80 confirms it as Dmin with lots of 4ths and 5ths (typical) - the cool thing is the use of 5sus (in this case, Asus to A) - one of my favorite predictable lead-in transitions (commonly referred to as a "plagal cadence")...
  24. QUOTE (Yen @ Jun 15 2008, 02:20 PM) Fair enough.
  25. Is LAVA really the right place for this? I mean, we already have the lounge (where anything goes), but what about this group of people, who ultimately are here because we all share a love of LabVIEW, makes the creation of such a sub forum appropriate? Maybe you're limiting the idea too much to only LabVIEW-lovers - perhaps this would be even more valuable to a much wider audience than just LabVIEW people. :!: I am in no way trying to discredit the idea - If you think I am, read the post again without that perception and you'll see that I'm actually trying to build upon it. PS: With the title of the thread, I was hoping for a cultural exchange when we get to swap jobs for a year
