  2. QUOTE(REM1 @ Jun 29 2007, 05:02 AM) Looks like the beginning of an important http://wiki.lavag.org/' target="_blank">wiki article - anyone want to start it?
  3. QUOTE(Ben @ Jun 28 2007, 09:00 PM) They sure can - to "lift" is really just moving one object away from another (eg: lifting a rock off the earth), so you just need to define what you're lifting the asteroid away from, and then fill in the terms:
  4. QUOTE(Omar Mussa @ Jun 28 2007, 03:13 AM) I don't think that'll be of much use in the CLA exam

  10. QUOTE(alukindo @ Jun 25 2007, 01:04 AM) This is hijacking the thread a little, but at the last place I worked, I wrote a LabVIEW driver for a continuous feed thermal printer where strip-chart style data could be printed ad-nauseaum (and often was). It was an excellent printer (very hardy and rack-mountable) - I'm sure I could get in contact with them and find out what sort of printer it was if you;re interested...
  11. Try a loop back test (unplug the cable and put in a plug with pin 2 shorted to pin 3), then do the write in LabVIEW and read the response in Hyperterminal - that'll tell you what your LabVIEW program is really sending out.
  12. It's kinda difficult to work out where the problem is - are you sure the string that you're sending out the port is exactly the same in both Hyperterminal and LabVIEW? Are you sure the serial port settings are the same? Are you sure the termination characters are the same?
  13. QUOTE(jg69 @ Jun 24 2007, 03:09 AM) Well there you go - I stand corrected. I thought you could install the USB toolkit and perform some basic functions, but apparently not
  14. QUOTE(jg69 @ Jun 23 2007, 02:16 AM) That's not quite true: there are a handful of really basic VIs that come with LabVIEW (look under the "Vision and Motion" palette. That said, they are very basic, and if you want to do anything more, then jg69 is right: the NI-Vision toolkit is the way to go.
  15. QUOTE(Ich @ Jun 22 2007, 10:36 PM) I'm pretty sure you've got the wrong driver - try http://sine.ni.com/apps/we/niepd_web_display.display_epd4?p_guid=ED6942DF78E34659E034080020E74861&p_node=DZ52000&p_source=external' target="_blank">this one instead - it's free.

QUOTE(Ben @ Jun 20 2007, 03:53 AM) These never end without someone saying "May the schwartz be with you!" so lets just concider it done before it even starts. I'm glad you go tthat out of your system Ben "Badges? We don't need no stinkin' badges!" QUOTE(yen @ Jun 20 2007, 07:51 AM) Or with a picture of Kermit What yen's referring to is the huge public disgust when I changed my picture of Melvin Kaminsky to that of Kermit the Frog (who, incidentally, shares the same middle name as Jabba the Hut). Due to intense public pressure, I changed back to good ol' Mel.
