QUOTE(Nullllll @ May 27 2007, 03:43 AM) You want two graphs: Graph 1 shows Sine or Sqaure signal, depending on the locaiton of the switch Garph 2 shows an operation on Sine only, and is not visable when the switch is in Square mode Did I get it? If so, then use a property node to set Graph 2's "Visible" property.

QUOTE(Nullllll @ May 26 2007, 08:24 AM) So you want the switch to hide/show graphs that already have data in them and then hide/show other graphs that have data that's been operated on? Or you want the software to detect if it's a sine or square wave and then display them in different graphs? Please provide us with a front panel with all the controls/indicators that you want - that might make it more clear. PS: please stop calling me "dear". In my culture, it's a term used be people that are a *lot* closer than we are

QUOTE(george seifert @ May 26 2007, 12:38 AM) We use the ACR9000 on a number of projects (TCP/IP) and it's a very capable unit. There were some drivers that came with it (from memory) but they weren't much more than lower-level command wrappers, so we had to write a toolkit around them.
  9. QUOTE(Darren @ May 24 2007, 05:45 AM) It was worth a try

QUOTE(Darren @ May 24 2007, 04:47 AM) Yeah - there are cattle ranches in Australia bigger than Texas QUOTE(Darren @ May 24 2007, 04:47 AM) ...but I'm guessing my LabVIEW R&D colleagues don't want to see me in a tight t-shirt of any variety. That's a big assumption nudge nudge wink wink QUOTE(Darren @ May 24 2007, 04:47 AM) I'm glad to see my 100th LAVA post was something classy like this. You fit right in  QUOTE(xtaldaz @ May 24 2007, 05:00 AM) Variety is the spice of life - I know I also speak for Irene when I say that some of us look really silly in XL shirts and that's why we can't wear our spiffy LAVA shirts to work...or anywhere else. I tell you what: if we do have prizes this year that are related to sizes, we can give out vouchers for cafepress where everyone can choose thier own sizes.
  12. QUOTE(Aristos Queue @ May 24 2007, 03:52 AM) My concern is that it takes time to corale everyone on to the bus and stop for beer on the way, so the later we leave, the later we arrive (and the less time to party). Even if we do want to arrive at the Salt Lick at 8, we'd need to leave the Convention Center at 7, which means meeting at 6:45pm at the latest, so there's not going to be much difference.
  13. QUOTE(xtaldaz @ May 19 2007, 09:04 AM) http://forums.lavag.org/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=5930 - that's kinda close QUOTE(Irene_he @ May 19 2007, 02:16 PM) Couple years ago, I remembered that the roast beef meat at Salt Lick was pretty good, I ate at least 2 or 3 pieces which was too much usually Hey - I remember you doing that Irene Don't worry, we all ate too much brisket that night - if such a thing is possible... Righto folks - it looks like the mob has spoken: Tuesday night at the Salt Lick! There's also an NI event that afternoon: NI Community Block (Diagram) Party from 5:00-7:30pm, so, as usual, we can all enjoy a drink at that, and then head off on the bus at around 6ish. I'll start making the arrangements...

  19. QUOTE(Val Brown @ May 22 2007, 05:50 AM) Kind of, but not really - sorry I'm being nebulous, and I'm busting to spew out all the info (really, I am), but I just can't.
  20. QUOTE(Ben @ May 22 2007, 05:19 AM) That is indeed a substaintial component of being a CLA, and explains one of the major differences between being a CLD and a CLA nicely Ben  QUOTE(Val Brown @ May 22 2007, 05:21 AM) Thanks for the clarification. Can you further clarify the differences between CLA, CLD, CLAD and any others??? I'm asking for "real world" clarification here, because I've read the relevant NI docs. CLAD = Know your way around the palletes, know the vi.lib functions, have a little LAbVIEW experience, can code up a small app - this is a good certification for those just out of uni - we have out interns complete at least this level. CLD = CLAD + Can design/use existing design patterns (architectures), have a lot of LabVIEW experience, can code up a decent app (and quickly) - this is a good certification for most engineers - we have our Test Software and Integration Group engineers complete at least this level. CLA = CLAD + CLD + Can take a complex set of requirements and efficiently deliver a solution that just happens to be developed in LabVIEW - this is a good certification for technical lead engineers - we have our technical lead engineers complete this level.
  21. QUOTE(Val Brown @ May 22 2007, 03:46 AM) I think that it's unclear to the general masses what the difference between a Certified LabVIEW Developer and a Certified LabVIEW Architect is - and it may actually be the titles of those certifications that is causing the confusion. If you haven't been throught the exams, or haven't read the requirements of them, you might assume that a CLD just develops and a CLA just creates architectures - this is not so. For example (and this is only one of them): people who have completed the CLD know that they need to know code architecture, whereas those that have done the CLA know that they need to know project architecture. What I'm trying to say is that the "Architect" in "Certified LabVIEW Architect" isn't just about code architecture - in fact, that's not a major component. Okay, now I'm bordering on crossing the NDA line. My suggestion: if you really want to know what being a CLA is all about, the course I mentioned above is a good place to start.
  22. QUOTE(Val Brown @ May 22 2007, 04:54 AM) I am not saying that "assume a team-based approach is best" for all development work except (very!) "small projects" - that's not my intent at all, but in hindsight (and this is generally speaking), if you can compatmentalize functionality, then team-based work is a very efficient model for medium to large projects - very efficient.
  23. QUOTE(Val Brown @ May 22 2007, 03:46 AM) That's a common thought: why should I do all of this added work, when I know what I want to do in my head, and I just want to get into it and do it. For small projects that don't need to be traceable to documented requirements, then that's probably a valid path. On the other hand, when you do need to be tracable to documented requirements, and the architecture needs to me modular and easily upgradable, then that approach (although it will probably work) isn't the best way to go. QUOTE(Val Brown @ May 22 2007, 03:46 AM) I'm very interested in education but I'm not certain that treating all of my LV work AS IF it involved a team really helps sharpen or improve my overall coding. It may not, but (as an aside) there's nothing like working in a team to help you improve your coding - education can help you along the road, but IMO working with good LabVIEW coders is absolutely paramount to the development of a coder.
