  2. I haven't used .NET for database access, since what I have works, so I'm not familiar with this iterative retrieval process. The ADO interface I'm using with the labsql allows me to collect multiple rows of data with a single sql call. It's pretty fast. In essence, you want to make as an elaborate an SQL query as possible so that it can retrieve data in a single call.
  3. I've always used the ADO interface myself. Have been for years without problems. You can download some VI's that wrap around it here: http://www.jeffreytravis.com/lost/labsql.html I've modified the original to optimize it here and there and it works fine.
  4. I'm not sure of what the problem is. However, I upgraded many components on the site over the past few days. It's possible that one of the upgrades changed the behavior of this. Lets monitor this for a week or so to see how it really works. One thing I noticed is that if you set the menu at the bottom right to "today", and click "GO" it shows only todays posts. However it doesn't keep this after you close your browser and come back. Another thing I noticed is that as long as you are logged in (and keep yourself logged in), you will see the bahavior you describe. Then the only indication of new posts is the tiny orange squares. However if you log off (by clicking the log off button), you reset this and then you list will be empty when you log back in.
  5. QUOTE (Justin Goeres @ Mar 13 2008, 05:19 AM) We could create a LabVIEW GUI category and them all placed there.
  6. Love this stuff: http://forums.lavag.org/GUI-user10874-album79.html Note: When viewing the main image page, click on the image to get a larger size in a thickbox.
  7. QUOTE (jdebuhr @ Mar 12 2008, 02:45 PM) That's a shame Jeff. I think 5 years old is kinda pushing it though. However, you never know until you try.
  8. I'm a fan of the classic look and feel of the palettes and I'm so glad NI gave me a way to keep this. Take this away from me and I will stop using LabVIEW. http://forums.lavag.org/uploads/michaelaivaliotispalettes/michaelaivaliotispalettes.swf
  9. I've extended the flash size limit on the forums to 550x550. Now the above flash looks nicer. So to embedd flash just use the bbcode tag.
  10. Just want to note that this issue is now fixed on the forums. If you reply to one of your own posts within 60minutes, it no longer removes line breaks. It now works as expected. Just testing, yes, it's fixed.
  11. QUOTE(Aristos Queue @ Mar 10 2008, 07:35 AM) Damn, I can't stop saying this word...
  12. An experimental object-oriented rapid application development (RAD) language with parameterized ("virtual") types, refactoring, and extensive static checks.
  13. Great stuff, thanks for sharing!
  14. QUOTE(crelf @ Mar 3 2008, 07:27 AM) crelf you're so knowledgeable!
  15. I've increased the width from 400px to 500px and the height from 300px to 400px.
  16. Thank you for pointing this out Yen. I didn't pay attention too much to this setting. I changed it so you don't have to be logged in to download in the CR. Once again, LAVA ROCKS!! PS: If you still notice an issue let me know.
  17. I have added 2007 and 2008 to the "year you started using LabVIEW" field selectable from your profile and when registering. Those that wanted 2007 or 2008 as a starting year can now change it in your profile. Thank You for your patience and sorry for the inconvenience.
  18. Ok, thanks, I will look onto it.
  19. Check out the collection of cool LabVIEW user interfaces in the LAVA Gallery by LAVA member CarlosCalderon. Great Work!
  20. If you currently do a search for the keyword "LabVIEW" on Google, you will notice that the LabVIEW Wiki is on the first page of the search results. It is on the bottom of the list, but it's there! This is very cool. This means that more eyes will be looking at the Wiki in the future which means it is more important than ever to make sure it has relevant and comprehensive content. In the past, I've tried to add some fun pages to the Wiki to try and get involvement. One area which I think we have vested interest in is the LabVIEW Ecosystem. The Forums page is empty, can someone fill this in? Also, I've always wanted to have a History of LabVIEW page. Any volunteers? There are many more pages that are missing like (as someone mentioned on Info-LV), list of LabVIEW Books etc. Let's make 2008 the year of the big push to get more content on the Wiki than ever before.
  21. It seems that Ben is at it again. This time Mustard and Coke get thrown in the mix.
  22. When I saw this video the first thing I said to myself was: "This is one for the LAVA lounge".
  23. Time to pimp the marketing girl
