    May I CAN?

We mostly deal with ISO 11898-2 type CAN's, 1 Mbits/sec, but I don't think we really need that level of speed. We don't do design validation. Just functional testing of printed circuit assemblies.

    May I CAN?

I went to NI first. Too many choices.

    May I CAN?

Our company has been getting an increasing number of orders for devices that use CAN bus. I have zero CAN bus experience so I'm shopping for a good (and preferably cheap) CAN interface/adapter that comes with handy-dandy LabVIEW drivers and/or examples to use for testing. Thanks in advance.
  4. There is your first problem right there. Try building it in 8.6. Keep us updated.
  5. Hello, Guru. No worries, at least for me. I have learned a lot from you and I have your new URL bookmarked. Good luck with your new server.
  6. Congrats! Good luck with the job search, too.
  7. My two are litter mates and they will act like that with each other if I let them. They day I brought them home I set a can of cat food onto a plate expecting them to "share". Bad idea. I thought the bigger one was going to rip the throat out of smaller one. Since then they have always eaten from separate plates. P.S. I hope that's dog meat in the video.
  8. I think I wrote this Saturday evening. I've been known to put in a 7-day week but not even I will work on a Saturday evening. NOW I have to get back to work.
  9. No. It could be worse for the sheep. They could have been set on fire like in the movie Mars Attacks!
  10. It was raining here in MI this morning. If anyone ever gets a chance to see a meteor shower out in the boonies take it. It's quite a show. When I lived in CO I was fortunate enough to see the Perseids one summer evening while backpacking in the mountains. We didn't even know it at the time but my friends and I were commenting on how many meteors we were seeing that night. It was only until we made it back to civilization that we learned it was the Perseids.
  11. Slightly off topic, but why would IT want to move to Vista and not Windows 7? I keep hearing nothing but good things about 7 and we all know what Vista was like.
  12. Indeed. The last time I did this I loaded 7.11, 8.0, 8.20 and 8.5 on an XP machine. Never thought of the compatibility issues with Vista - or Windows 7 for that matter.
  13. Bite the bullet. Start from the earliest version and work your way up. I've done it both ways a few times and going from most recent to older had some problems. I don't remember any trouble at all installing oldest to newest.

Send Mr. D here to read this thread.
  15. I learned that I am a crap god playing Spoor. I'm a much better general conquering everyone on the planet playing CIV IV.

You should have asked him to make you that sandwich. Now you're probably going to be making HIS sandwiches.
  17. Today I saw a remarkable movie. The powerful intergalactic spiritual harmonics I heard the last time I heard the 6th Dimension Handbell Choir led me to a small theater in Farmington, MI. Once again my life has changed. I don't know how long my above animal-level soul can keep up with this interdimesional journey. The "Prawns" are above animal-level?! I feel like I am going mad.
  18. I've been to hand bell concerts. They are indeed quite impressive. I posted the link because of the life-changing harmonics that swept me into a convergence of dimension and above animal-level spirituality. I saw the Face of God and my life has been forever changed.
  19. The 6th Dimension PaulG. bests alfa by another dimension.
  20. Is the 'excel objectRepository.vi' in your project directory somewhere? And does it need a .dll to operate and is that in the project directory as well? I can't explain why but, if my memory serves me correctly I encountered a similar problem a while back and that is how I fixed it.
