  1. "During my service in the United State Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet." -Al Gore, 4/9/1999 If George W. Bush had said the exact same thing the media and the moonbats would have gone nuts and howled in collective glee. Editorials would have gone on for months. Al Gore said this, and whether or not he was taken out of context doesn't matter. He said it. Al Gore was very instrumental in legislation that helped build the Internet infrastucture. Even taken out of context the quote is actually partially true. It just sounded silly and self-serving. That's why I use the quote and make fun of Al Gore for saying it.
  2. Oh, gosh darn. You must think I'm a sucker. OK. I'll bite. Don't feel guilty because you have good health care insurance. You work for a living. And from what I gather you are a typical engineer who has worked most or all of your adult life, paying your half of health care premiums for all these years. Now, after a long and very productive career you find yourself pushing 50 and having health "issues". Don't sweat it. Don't worry about it. And again, for God's sake don't feel guilty about it. You have already PAID FOR your RIGHT to health care. If you think a socialist government health care system can do better I pose a question: name one program. ONE. ONE program the government - ANY GOVERNMENT - has taken over and made better or more cost-effective or fair. One program. Any country. Any time in history. Just one. I don't think you can. And if you think the US government can (for the first time is history) do better I'll freely give you this: If our government comes up with health care reform I will support it 100%, NO QUESTIONS ASKED on ONE condition: that any health care system they come up with MUST provide the same level of health care coverage for the welfare mother with children in inner-city Detroit as it does for 0bama and the rest of the elite in Washington. Fair enough? PS: Looking forward to many, many years of banter with you here, Bob. I just hope someday you and I can argue about something that relates to LabVIEW.
  3. I didn't get the memo, either. Yes. Stacked sequence structures are bad. Very bad. I'm not sure about the flat sequences. I use a flat sequence structure all the time to enforce data flow, but it's always just a single frame.
  4. It took the Internet in the person of Matt Drudge of the Drudge Report to break the Monica Lewinski story. Then the remaining media followed up on it. We all know how big that story became. I really don't know why the dominant media sometimes refuses to investigate a story. It could be that the dominant media has been so pro-global warming, uh, er, I mean "climate change" they might be somewhat reluctant to really report more about this story because it makes the media look stupid and lazy. Seriously, how many reporters went up to the program manager and said: "Hey chief. This article reads like it's about global warming but it says "climate change". What's up with that? What the heck is "climate change?!" "
  5. What else could the other networks have done? Every one of them understood that if 0bama could single out Fox today 0bama could single out any one of them (or all of them) tomorrow.
  6. Can't speak for the media in general, but the Associated Press had 11 reporters "fact" checking Sarah Palin's book. Obviously Sarah Palin is more of a threat to world peace than the biggest scam in history. I rarely watch the news on TV, but when I do it's always Fox. One day Neil Cavuto had a global warming, uh, er, I mean "climate change" "expert" and Neil called him out on it: "Why are we calling it 'climate change' now and no longer calling it global warming?" I was a little embarrassed that such a question even had to be asked. And when 0bama singled them out a few weeks ago I figured they must be hitting very close to home. It only further validated Fox in my eyes.
  7. It's not a conspiracy if you are paying attention. Stewart quipped, “Poor Al Gore. Global warming completely debunked via the very Internet you invented. Oh, oh, the irony!” Video here. "Why would you throw out data from the 80's?! I still have Penthouses from the 70's ... LAMINATED!!
  8. "Ted Kennedy killed more people with his car than I have with my gun."
  9. Very prudent. Sometimes it looks like we are heading in that direction. The Tea Parties are symptomatic of how concerned average everyday people are getting with their out-of-control government. The moonbats are spending us into oblivion.
  10. Oh, fortheloveofpete. I'm getting pretty fed up with folks claiming the "right-wing" "radicals" are tearing themselves apart when 0bama can't blow his nose without provoking a bunch of left-wing moonbats.
  11. I am speechless. I am in awe. I wish I could give you +10 points. Well said, Jim. You can take my place on my soapbox anytime. Damn the global warming, uh, er, I mean "climate change" denying heretics!!! Global warming/climate change: Biggest. Scam. Ever.
  12. You are welcome, Ben. But give some credit to the stomach flu. I was home sick with a nasty stomach virus yesterday so I had some extra time on my hands behind the computer. I don't know what made my stomach feel worse: the virus or diving into this story.
  13. I think the UN is up to more evil than just banning guns.
  14. I think what happened to Jim Fixx was an abberation. That kind of thing doesn't happen very often. But don't take it from me. Talk to your cardiologist. He will probably tell you to get off your @ss and start moving. I don't know where you live but here in suburban Detroit the neighborhoods are wide open with golf courses, big lawns and beautiful landscaping. Great scenery for a brisk walk. Pretty soon I might start jogging.
  15. I can't believe so many otherwise intelligent PROGRAMMERS can be so flippant about cooking data, manipulating data, using "tricks" on data, hiding data and DELETING data for nefarious purposes. Did I wake up in a parallel universe? If this turns out to be the scam I believe it is the ramifications are stunning. I called this the biggest scam in history because in terms of monetary and political clout it IS. We are talking huge global financial and political consequences. Why? A bunch of elitist politicians and climatologists traded in their collective integrity so they wouldn't lose their funding, Nobel prizes and clout in the UN. What bothers me the most about this is that we need to count on scientists to have a certain amount of integrity. What happens the next time a group of scientists cry wolf? "A meteor is coming and it will destroy the earth!" "Oh, yea, sure, I remember 'climategate'". "A new influenza has just mutated and it could kill billions!" "Oh, yea, sure, I remember 'climategate'". "The earth REALLY IS warming, and it's OUR FAULT! We have to change our lifestyles NOW or we are ALL GOING TO DIE!" "Oh, yea, sure, I remember 'climategate'". Everyone's ears and brains should have gone into alert mode when they stopped calling it "global warming" and started calling it "climate change". WTH is CLIMATE CHANGE?! What's up with that?! Otherwise intelligent people are buying this nonsense!!!
  16. Indeed. "Anyone willing to read". THEY ERASED THE FRACKIN' DATA!
  17. Good game, Chris!! But stay out of those tanning booths. They're hard on you skin.
  18. "Climategate". And to think this wasn't even a word a month ago. Stock up on the popcorn. IMO this is the biggest scam in history. I've believed this for years, but now the story has legs. Seems the Internet wasn't the only thing Al Gore "invented". If we can't trust scientists to be honest ...
  19. I have to say "ditto" to what jcarmody wrote. My dad is the best example of what seems to work the best for everyone: cardio exercise. He's almost 80 but is in better shape and has more energy than I. He only needs to take a water pill for his BP and it's a solid 110/70. Around the age of 50 his cardiologist must have read him the riot act. Dad started walking, then running, working up to 20-30 miles a week and continued to do so until he had to quit a couple of years ago due to doctors orders- a hip replacement. He might be 10 lbs overweight now and I'm sure that came from his quitting running. He goes to the Y 5 days a week and works the free weights. He gets good walks in while volunteering at the hospital a couple of days a week pushing patients around in wheelchairs. Not only does exercise burn off calories it curbs your appetite. Except for a serious reduction of red meat he hasn't made any drastic changes to his diet. He simply doesn't need to eat very much. His cardiologist said that what he is doing is the best thing you can do to help keep the arteries clear. And excersise is not only great for your heart it's great for your mind. Dad's mind is still very much all there. When he's not doing something he's reading. Oh, and Dad drinks. One or two glasses of wine daily. I've heard that might have something to do with a healthy heart as well. Don't go running any marathons right now. Too many folks our age decide to make up for lost time and go Rambo right away - some of us dropping dead of a heart attack at the local fitness center during our first workout in 10 years. Talk to your cardiologist first. Dad started very slowly and wasn't really running until probably a year after he started brisk walking. My $0.02 Good luck, Bob. I'm counting on seeing you around here for years to come.

Would you rather your daughter heard this from 0bama, or you?
  21. I'm not a big fan of the queued message handler to begin with. Throwing in nested states and substates gives me a headache just thinking about it.

I think 0bama should stick to leading adults as an adult instead of bowing to foreign leaders and meddling in what teenagers do or not do in their free time. Just saying.
  23. Probably not, but it's a good idea to check and make sure you have the latest and greatest drivers for your hardware once in a while. After you replace your montherboard would be a good time to do that.
  24. Indeed. So now it will be so overused we will be sick of hearing it by Christmas.
