gleichman
The policy was updated 3-4-14 (CLA summit?). CLAD - 2 years (same as before) CLD - 3 years CLA - 4 years http://www.ni.com/white-paper/9605/en/ I like this change. The two year renewal always seemed to sneak up. 2 Quote Link to comment
Antoine Chalons
That's a step in a good direction. Quote Link to comment
Mike Le
Does this apply retroactively? For example, I certified in 2013. Does this mean I'm in the clear until 2017? Or do I still have to recertify in 2015 since I took the exam before the change in policy? The white paper doesn't state either way. Retroactive makes the most sense, but since this is Certifications we're talking about, I don't want to assume anything. Edited March 6, 2014 by Mike Le Quote Link to comment
Roderic
I hope it's retroactive... Quote Link to comment
Phillip Brooks
Maybe some will never need to take a physical, on-site test again... Certified professionals can recertify and maintain their certification status by participating and completing approved activities that earn and accumulate points redeemable towards recertification. For information on recertifying with points, click here to download the full policy. Klout, anyone? Edited March 6, 2014 by Phillip Brooks Quote Link to comment
crossrulz
I've been told that it is retroactive. If you doubt it, send an email to certification@ni.com to get your expiration date. Quote Link to comment
lvb
My understanding is as follows: If your certification was "active" (not suspended) on March 3rd/4th, it will be extended. As crossrulz said, contact NI if you have any questions. Quote Link to comment
Mike Le
Sounds good, thanks for the info, guys! I already sent Certifications an e-mail; I expect a positive response. Looks like I can slack on the recert worries for a while. EDIT: NI confirmed that I'm set until 2017. Score. Edited March 6, 2014 by Mike Le Quote Link to comment
Jordan Kuehn
I got an automatic email with a new PDF certificate with the new date on it. Quote Link to comment
