Bought my ticket this morning (under the wire for early-bird pricing).  I also invited 5 co-workers who will also be attending this year (three of them for the first time, I think) who knew nothing of this.  See you there!

Bolder Software will be in attendance again this year, we're looking forward to it! Traditionally, we like to encourage creativity as much as the technical appetite of this audience. Our door prize will be the LEAP Motion Controller:

leap

Also, if we can get it done by next week, we're hoping to bring something edible for everyone. (Not that kind, just some sugar cookies!)

This year, STUDIO BODs joins the LAVA BBQ again.

The door prize we offer this year is Time, but we all know time is money!
We will give 1000 LabVIEW custom Boolean controls (6-states) created with pictures and colors schemes of your choice.
Let’s say it takes 2 minutes to create a LV custom Boolean control, and you have an intern doing them (25$/h), this door prize will save you more than 800$!
You will have 18 months to generate your 1000 buttons with LV Button, by STUDIO BODs

See ya all at NI Week!

I'm in

I will be sure to record it for those that can't make it this year.

I'll be at NI Week but obviously can't attend all the sessions I'd like to attend. Do you already know which sessions you are going to record? That way I guess I can attend the ones you don't record and watch the other ones after the NI Week. Is that a wise strategy?

Thanks!

Is that a wise strategy?

Sorta.  Mark does this out of the kindness of his heart, and his enthusiasm for the community.  Things happen and he might not be able to record a session, or the camera might break, or a presenter might ask him not to.  There are reasons Mark might not be able to record and upload the sessions and I think having him publicly state which sessions he is going to attend might be unfair to him.

That being said I sure hope Mark is able to record some of the sessions I can't go to.  As usual there are a bit too many I want to go to on Thursday, and other days are lighter.

If you do meet Mark, be sure and buy him a beer at the BBQ or some other event, he deserves it.

I'm pleased to donate, on behalf of myself, a $50 Gift Certificate to ThinkGeek.com. After all the BBQ has given me, the least I can do is give a little something back :).

What will you buy with it? Maybe you're feeling classy. Or retro. Or snuggly. Or you know what? Who even cares. You'll find something.

Makes total sense. Thank you Mark no matter what!  :worshippy:

I'm also planning to pass my CLD, so I need to remove even more sessions in my list, tricky tricky tricky...

If you or your company want to sponsor a LAVA BBQ door prize, please post a reply below. You can also include a small blurb about your company and a link to your website in the post below. By donating a prize you and your company will receive a small announcement of your choosing, during the event. We will ask you to write the announcement on a post-it note and will attach it to the prize to be read before awarding it.
We love the door prizes, but we love time for socializing too.  Here are some guidelines to keep our event balanced and streamlined.
Single item donations work best. If donating more than one item, then multiple identical items is strongly preferred. If donating non-tangible items or something that is not physically with you, then please bring a card with your contact info and instructions on how to collect the prize. This will be given to the winner. Donations are typically $25-$200 in value. Not recommended:
Apparel (hats, t-shirts, underwear, etc.) - never the right size Software licenses (Toolkits, add-ons, LabVIEW) Branded trade show booth type giveaways (mouse pads, pens, keychains, etc.) Jokes or something meant as a gag and not a real prize
Hope to see you there! Chime in once you buy tickets to let everyone know you're coming.

We would prefer a single item donation. If donating more than one item, then multiple identical items is strongly preferred. So we don't spend our time on a flood of refrigerator magnets, please donate something valued at $25 or more. If donating non-tangible items or something that is not physically with you, then please bring a card with your contact info and instructions on how to collect the prize. This will be given to the winner. All prizes are acceptable except those listed below (examples from 2015 and 2016): Not recommended:
Apparel (hats, t-shirts, underwear etc) Branded trade show booth type giveaways (mouse pads, pens, keychains etc) Software licenses (Toolkits, add-ons, LabVIEW) Jokes or something meant as a gag and not a real prize

NI Week 2017 is about 10 weeks away - seems odd saying that in March.
Any news on the LAVA BBQ?
