crelf
Our policy on spam is clear: "Spamming is not permitted; please keep all your posts as constructive and on-topic as possible", but we also want to be clear on how our members should handle what they suspect as spam in our forums. From our Golden Forum Rules page: "If a topic is recognized as being posted in the wrong forum, or if the post is a violation of our guidelines then please contact a moderator [using] the report post to moderator feature; please do not respond publicly to the member - a member of staff will do what is required upon contact. Any person/s who attempt to present themselves as a Moderator by posting negatively to a member's topic... will be sent a PM warning and placed into moderation queue upon further actions." In summary, do not reply to a topic that you think is spam - simply click the "! REPORT" link next to the suspect spam (see below) and fill out a description to report it to a moderator. If you do reply to the suspected spam post and don't click on the report button, then the moderators might miss it. Also, you're violating our rules by presenting yourself as a moderator. Foloowing the guidleines will help us keep our forums uncluttered and on topic  Quote Link to comment
LAVA 1.0 Content
Would it help to tag such a message as 'spam' or 'reported' after reporting? I have been doing so to let others know that the moderators are aware of the issue. Ton Quote Link to comment
crelf
QUOTE (Ton @ Sep 11 2008, 02:41 AM) Would it help to tag such a message as 'spam' or 'reported' after reporting? No, as that could be seen as responding negatively to the post, thus violating our rules. Just report it and our admin or a moderator will take care of it relatively quickly. Quote Link to comment

crelf
Update: it looks like a lot of people got the PM'ed spam message that you're all talking about. We're working on it. QUOTE (TobyD @ Jan 29 2009, 01:56 PM) How do we report spam sent as a PM? I don't see a report link. The "! REPORT" button only exists in the forum threads, not in the PM system. Please feel free to suggest it http://forums.lavag.org/Suggestions-and-Ideas-f67.html' target="_blank">here. Quote Link to comment
