  1. Please see the above link to download the videos The NIWeek 2014 Videos are compressed and ready for down load from Tecnova's ftp server I would strongly recommend using an ftp client to transfer them to your computer. A web browser may work but if you want to download multiple videos the ftp client makes things much easier. My ftp client of choice is FileZilla and it is free. FileZilla can be downloaded at http://filezilla-project.org/ ftp://frc.tecnova.com login: LabVIEW_Videos pw: LabVIEW login and password is case sensitive. if you are using Filezilla your site manager window will look like this. A big thank you to Dan Bosdech for recording the sessions on Thursday as I was attending a private all day session. Enjoy and let me know if there are any issues. Mark

  2. MaidSafe is an Interesting and innovative open source development in peer to peer distributed storage and network data access. I know the thread title is a big claim, but this technology has the potential to be paradigm shifting and it only requires people to use it. (I'm just trying to figure out how to install it on my NAS ) I laugh at your DropBox. .

  3. If you have your class and you want to create a pull right menu on a property node for it, you can use the colon ( to separate property items for it. Just right click on the class » Properties » Item Settings » Localized name. Also, on a separate note and since I'm in the neighborhood, you could also take advantage of the "Documentation" tab in the Class properties to change the "Localized name" from the default (in my case, "NI_VSA.lvclass") to something shorter or more meaningful. .This makes it easier on the eye. 4. A small tip: You don't even have to re-enable Panel Updates (Defer = False). Every time you set "Defer Panel Updates" to "True" it will actually refresh. So you could initially defer updates and then, if you want, refresh at regular controlled intervals by repeatedly calling "Defer Panel Updates" = True and only setting it to "False" once all of your work is done.

  5. This also works for the drop down menu of polymorphic VIs.

  7. I almost didn't get them finished in time, but I will be donating a hand-made necklace and bracelet featuring the "top" (ahem) new feature of LabVIEW 2014! That's right, the launch icon! They're reversible: 32-bit launch icon on one side, and 64-bit on the other. Some assembly required: I'm not tying off the cords so you can adjust them to fit. [i've been told men might not want to wear a necklace, but, hey, you could always share with someone special!] Brought to you by Christina Rogers, member of LabVIEW R&D, author of the Eyes on VIs blog, and creator of the (free!) graphical novel Rune: A Tale of Wizards and Kings and sequel novella Wizards and Kings: Sacrifice (only 99 cents on Kindle, and free with Kindle Unlimited!)

  8. Jack and Michael, if you are "listening", I think this kind of stuff would make a great topic for VI Shots live.

  9. Hi, Norm, I can change springboard code myself, so it's not a big deal. But if this tool is intended to be used by the general LabVIEW community, the code should use the older "official" version of AMC to keep it compatible with the AMC library that people may already have installed. Or perhaps it (and the example) should use its own private AMC library, just like the generated code does. Then the code will work no matter which AMC version you have installed. I previously thought that it would be better to have the generated code refer to the user.lib copy of the AMC library than its own private copy, but I see how having its own private copy avoids any potential conflicts with the user.lib copy. By the way, do you know if and when the new AMC library will be "official"?
