Okay Folks - let's settle down a little. Remember - if you think a post is inappropriate, please use the "! REPORT" button to send a message to a moderator. Don't post comments like that in the thread (that's LAVA forum golden rule number 12). I'm going to lock this thread for a little bit to allow everyone to take a deep breath...

QUOTE (Michael_Aivaliotis @ Oct 28 2008, 08:11 PM) Maybe Stephen's heard of it as the "http://wiki.openg.org/OpenG_Builder' rel='nofollow' target="_blank">OpenG Builder" and not just by it's acronym of OGB? -
QUOTE (jgcode @ Oct 28 2008, 07:27 PM) Charming!

QUOTE (MikaelH @ Oct 28 2008, 06:28 PM) Looks like a candidate for OpenG, although it might be better implemented using "In Range and Coerce". I'd like to see it also compare based on a % of the first input.

QUOTE (bandersen @ Oct 28 2008, 08:52 AM) I'm confused - are you trying to call LabVIEW from Visual Studio, or are you trying to call LabWindows/CVI? LabVIEW and Labwindows/CVI are two very different things.

QUOTE (Nyang @ Oct 28 2008, 04:50 AM) Yeah - the wiki is down at the moment. Setting UseNumbersForNewVIIcons to FALSE stops LabVIEW from adding and incrementing numbers to the icons of new VIs: http://lavag.org/old_files/monthly_10_2008/post-181-1225194205.gif' target="_blank"> So, to use it, add the following line to your LabVIEW.ini file: UseNumbersForNewVIIcons=FALSE -

How can I set the initial value of a boolean indicator?

QUOTE (DanielChile @ Oct 24 2008, 10:07 AM) We have a reuse component that does our translations for us: Have the labels of your FP controls & indcators in your mother language (in this case, I'll assume English) Hide the labels and show the captions Have a look-up table (we have this in a file) that has all the different languages in it with respect to their English counterparts When the user wants to change the language, read all the labels and replace their captions with the selected language equivalent Here's an example* (note - all this little VI in the middle does is look-up the new translation): http://lavag.org/old_files/monthly_10_2008/post-181-1224858108.gif' target="_blank"> * Does not support items in containers yet (tab controls, etc) - you'd have to handle those specially. It wouldn't be difficult to do that - just traverse the container recursively.

crelf replied to Whaler's topic in Calling External Code
QUOTE (Whaler @ Oct 24 2008, 03:36 AM) I've had a similar issue before (a long time ago), so I don't think that this is specific to vista. I don't remember what the issue was specifically, but I recall that a reinstall of the RTE fixed it. -
QUOTE (Phil Duncan @ Oct 23 2008, 07:34 PM) Awesome - definately go for the R series FPGA card then. QUOTE (Phil Duncan @ Oct 23 2008, 07:34 PM) but I think that I will try the DAQmx read properties to continuously acquire and maintain 16 circular buffers and trigger in software. It won't be pretty but I think it is the best approach. Yeah - shouldn't be too difficulat to set up, and will give you an idea of what you can get away with. PS: will be in Melbourne in a couple of days for a week and then the Gold Coast for a week - looking forward to some good weather, great beer and a whole lotta eye candy...

How can I set the initial value of a boolean indicator?
crelf replied to horatius's topic in LabVIEW General
QUOTE (horatius @ Oct 23 2008, 05:44 PM) Set the control/indicator to off, right click on it (from the front panel), and select Data Operations > Make Current Value Default. -
QUOTE (LV_FPGA_SE @ Oct 23 2008, 01:21 PM) Right - you could even have the R series card be like a trigger handler, and control any number of parallel DAQ cards with it (either through the star trigger/RTSI if you're using PXI or RTSI cables) or as direct wiring from the R series card to the PFI trigger lines of the slave cards.

How to scale UI for Different Monitors
crelf replied to dannyt's topic in Development Environment (IDE)
QUOTE (TobyD @ Oct 23 2008, 12:40 PM) That's a great idea - and it works really well using "Fit VI Window to Largest Decoration" and "Fit VI Window to Content" from the OpenG Application Control Tools palette (the window resizes to the decoration on run, and then resizes to include everything when it stops - I use that technique on almost all of my VIs that are UIs). http://lavag.org/old_files/monthly_10_2008/post-181-1224781154.gif' target="_blank"> -
QUOTE (Phil Duncan @ Oct 23 2008, 11:37 AM) There probably is a way to do it on the card, but I'd be looking at a hardware-based circular buffer and handle the triggering in software. It's some work, but it'll do the trick. If you're not tied to the hardware that you've got, I'd do this in FPGA (or, a combination of FPGA for the triggering and the DAQ card that you've got for the acquisition).

QUOTE (Dan Bookwalter @ Oct 23 2008, 09:15 AM) This is kind of a random thought, but have you thought of comparing file sizes? JPG is a compressed format, so for spatially large enough images, the file size will change. Very very generally speaking, the more the image changes, the larger the file size delta*. * I don't have any data to back that up.
