Simple string searches in the IDE cause LabVIEW 2011 to crash

Has anyone noticed this on LabVIEW 2011? I know 1 other person who has experienced this. Want to know if it's pervasive. Doing a string search in the development environment of your VIs cause LabVIEW to crash

I haven't seen this in 2011. But in the past, I have seen major bog-downs in text search for projects containing lots of picture control stuff, since (I think) the string search actually parses picture data as string data. Do the VIs in memory that you're searching have a lot of picture control stuff going on?

I seem to remember seeing something this in LabVIEW 2009, turned out there was a VI buried in the hierarchy that included a huge constant array of doubles, and for some reason that caused problems when searching for text.

I usually solve this problem in LV2010 with Ctrl-Alt-"Run Arrow" (Or is it Shift-Ctrl- ?) and/or Tools/Advanced.../Mass recompile

It's Ctrl+Shift+"Run Arrow".

So it looks like this is happening when I select "search subvis" in the search box. It also happens instantaneously. It doesn't even try to search anything, crashes right away. I've sent several crash reports to NI. No picture controls or large data sets. This is in 2011 SP1.

Did you try the mass recompile?
