austinman
Has anyone tested, or found any information (or heard any rumors) with regard to compatibility of the current LabVIEW FPGA (Xilinx) compilers with Windows 10? I am guessing it is the same issues as with Windows 8 (not compatible), but I thought I would ask Quote Link to comment
hooovahh
At NI Week I asked about this and they said the only compiler supported is the newest ones. I believe they said Vivado. http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/02EBA6105D04A1E686257D4E00144C92 That being said if you have an active SSP you don't need to compile your FPGA yourself anymore. NI now includes the free cloud compile for up to 5 simultaneous compilations. https://users.niwsc.com/compilecloud/#/ Quote Link to comment
smithd
The cloud compile is fine unless you need to use IP cores or ip builder. I just tried a Xilinx IP core in win10 with the 9607 target (so it should be using the newest Vivado) and it still doesn't work. 2 Quote Link to comment
austinman
My understanding is that the latest version of the Xilinx Vivado compiler is supported by Windows 8 (and I assume 10). I think the problem is NI isn't using the latest Vivado compiler that Xilinx has available. The cloud compile is not an option for my use cases; lack of internet connectivity being a big one. Thanks for the update, smithd. Quote Link to comment
e_schneider
I also have used Win10 in the last 3 months during my current project (LV2014 & without IP Builder). I had no problems generating the bitfiles in the Cloud, but the local compiler got stuck somewhere in the synthesis or mapping. Quote Link to comment
