  1. I don’t mind sending the code for doing comparison to e.g. NI. But if the code is very similar, I guess AddQ will refuse J I’m quite sure that the next release of AddQ IDE will have all VIs rewritten or at least all connector pane wiring changed and control/indicator size and positioning. I’m not sure what Symbios next step will be in this matter. I must say I got inspired by the competition and got me working harder on our next version of GDS that we’ll release to NI-week. BTW, if you want to help out beta testing … //Mikael

  3. My experience with the mobile module (the PDA module, actually) is both limited and old, but I can say that in the past it was quite buggy. You should plan some extra time for debugging. As for the UI design, you can either go with multiple windows scheme (where only one window appears at every one time) or try to combine everything into a single window. I'm assuming you can't use subpanels, and tabs really don't work. What I did in the past was use a tab control, hide the tabs and used a ring to control which page of the tab was visible. You may wish to have a look at NI's UI community. Simon H. (if I remember correctly) posted a cool UI demo where the screen (a tab) slides in and out based on your selection. I assume the design is based on an app from one of the smart phones so popular these days (and I assume you can have a look at some of those to get some design ideas).

  6. God almighty! The top reputation table is missing because when I upgraded the forums last time, it broke the plugin that showed the table. I didn't have time to go check to see if the plugin author had made an update to fix it. I didn't think it was worth my time to do this right away since lo and behold there is a new bugfix version of the forums out (which I haven't installed yet). So after I install the new forum version I will re-add the plugin that shows the top reputation members (if it works). I think people that refuse to give reputation points on the basis that someone hasn't posted a 10 page thesis are pretty lame. If the post is interesting and helpful, then give a reputation point. "Holding back" or "saving" reputation points, for what, I don't know gets under my skin. By the way, What does a + symbol on a button right next to a numeric mean? Hmm, I don't know. What happens if I click on it? Oh my God, my computer will blow up! How about if I hover over it instead? Hey, look, a floating tag that says: "Vote this post up"

  7. maybe you could use a cascading contextual menu instead. See attached example Download File:post-731-1159806566.zip
