  1. Interesting Demo at NI Connect today. Link starts at NIgel demo.
  2. Good news if you own NI stock. Not sure about customers.
  3. National Instruments Corp. said Friday that its board of directors has initiated a review and evaluation of strategic options, in consultation with its financial and legal advisors. The Texas-based equipment and instrumentation company said the comprehensive review would consider a full range of available strategic, business and financial alternatives, including solicitation of interest from potential acquirers and other transaction partners, some of whom have already approached the company. https://www.marketwatch.com/story/national-instruments-to-undergo-strategic-review-271673620665
  4. How do you handle scaling?
  5. Heh ... You're really going to like today's announcement.
  6. Are you using some kind of source code control?
  7. They said that the presentations would be available later, but they aren't yet. Probably because there are still live ones today.
  8. Better autowire sounds trivial, but could be a time saver.
  9. Noticed that everyone has a rank "Newbie" next to their picture. New update to the forum software?
  10. It turns out that the two day event is actually four hours, so not much room for non-marketing content. Registration is now open.
  11. https://www.ni.com/en-us/events/niweek.html Another year without LAVA BBQ And they're changing the name to "NI Connect".
  12. Are Swiss more likely to have holes in their code? I hoped you aren't cheesed by this comment.
  13. I'm starting to wonder if this decision was driven by the New NI that we learned about earlier this year and NI's updated vision of selling turn key systems instead of software and hardware that enabled engineers and independent system integrators.
  14. The boot time was almost worse than the install time.
  15. I've heard good things about Duplicati (https://www.duplicati.com/). I haven't implemented it yet, but it's on my list of things to do. It runs on Windows, Linux, and MacOS, so it can be run on a NAS to backup to the cloud.
  16. I'm not sure I understand what you're asking, but have you looked at the "Input Device Control" VIs? See the example "Monitoring Keyboard and Mouse Activity.vi" National Instruments\LabVIEW 20XX\examples\Connectivity\Input Device Control\Monitoring Keyboard and Mouse Activity.vi
  17. Thank you. You stated my opinion of yesterday's event very well. I'm still mad that I sat through that entire webcast waiting for something more informational than a new logo and slogan.
  18. Why post a critical remark to what looks like a homework question from 2.5 years ago? Acquiring electrical current data is not the challenge of this problem which is very doable with the correct hardware. The challenge is knowing when the current exceeds the "Time-Current Characteristic Curve". The curve defines for a given current level how much time passes before an over-current occurs. The higher the current the quicker the reaction time, but the shapes can vary.
  19. Is there a reason you're not using the actual "Strip Path" and "Build Path" functions? These allow you to manipulate the path, platform independent. No worries about slash direction and appending the root.
  20. Why are you using UDP if lost packets aren't acceptable? Even if you are on a closed network, there is no guarantee that all the packets get through. Sounds like you should be using TCP.
  21. Also, NXG 3.0 is available through NI Package Manager.
  22. It now shows "Release date: 12-03-2018"
  23. I've purchased my ticket. Looking forward to another NI Week.
