  1. I want to add my weight behind this product too* - if you're into OO (or even just want to dabble in it a little), this tool combines both by-val (native LVOOP) and by-ref (GOOP3.0 and OpenGOOP) into your project explorer. I strongly encourgae everyone to download and install at least the community edition - it's fully functional (no support and limited number of classes) and is IMHO a must for anyone working OO in LabVIEW... * and not just because V I Engineering, Inc is the North American distributor
  2. QUOTE (Michael_Aivaliotis @ Oct 19 2006, 11:06 PM) Motivated purely by this thread, I went and saw Saget live on the weekend, and really enjoyed the show. Yes, he is indeed a potty mouth (that term doesn't go far enough ), but at least he had the good sense to apologise for Full House three or four times during the show. If he's touring near you then I recommend you get out to see him.
  3. QUOTE (Aristos Queue @ Apr 23 2008, 01:27 AM) What, no LVOOP?!? I was expecting a Bottle class with "take one down" and "pass it around" methods... QUOTE (Justin Goeres @ Apr 22 2008, 11:48 PM) I lied. One more . I really like the queue-based method - it's a bit outside the box. That said, I think the spirit of the site is to compare the simplicities of languages and this might confuse people a little. That said, I'd like to see a flat entry (like all the other ones here) as well as a couple of other methods (queue, OO, ...)
  4. QUOTE (Justin Goeres @ Apr 22 2008, 07:08 PM) The entry would have to pass LAVAcr requirements of course
  5. QUOTE (Cat @ Apr 22 2008, 10:39 AM) I suggest you get the http://forums.lavag.org/RSS-Feeds-for-the-LAVA-Forums-t767.html' target="_blank">RSS feed instead.
  6. QUOTE (osiris81 @ Apr 22 2008, 08:37 AM) Ahhh - I see what you mean. No, there is no way to do that with the native LabVIEW controls. Here's a couple of ideas (in no particular order): Use a picture control (like Mike's example above) - save that as an xcontrol so the xcontrol handles all of the custom work and your code only "sees" an indicator Mark points of interest using graph cursors - you can make their labels say whatever you like
  7. QUOTE (osiris81 @ Apr 22 2008, 04:02 AM) You set y-axis markers the same way you set x-axis markers. Can you show us the code you have? It's always eaiser to understantd your issue and make suggestions if we've got your code to work with.
  8. QUOTE (Götz Becker @ Apr 21 2008, 01:17 PM) I think calling LabVIEW users stupid because you think you're from a dominate race is just like when...
  9. QUOTE (ASTDan @ Apr 21 2008, 02:18 PM) Ahhhhhhh - sorry, I should have mentioned that in my initial posts - that's why I was confused: I couldn't understand why you'd use the -1 timeout value.
  10. QUOTE (MikaelH @ Apr 20 2008, 05:56 PM) I'm glad it's not xxxprivatestuff
  11. QUOTE (Jimbo29 @ Apr 20 2008, 09:32 PM) Maybe you could write a short http://wiki.lavag.org/' rel='nofollow' target="_blank">LabVIEW Wiki article?
  12. QUOTE (tcplomp @ Apr 19 2008, 11:39 AM) Ahhh - so basically two parallel event structures?
  13. QUOTE (rkanders @ Apr 18 2008, 10:51 PM) Please show us an example.
  14. QUOTE (ASTDan @ Apr 19 2008, 09:17 AM) I'm trying to understand the use case here - you want to timeout only if a certain user event doesn't happen, but don't timeout if other user events don't happen, is that right? How's that different from globally timing out? If your event doesn't happen then it'll go to the timeout case. Are you looking for a "IF event occurs THEN do case one ELSE do case two" pattern? The global timeout will fire if your event didn't occur, and the other cases will fire if their events did occur. Maybe I'm missing your point. Can you give us an example?
  15. QUOTE (orko @ Apr 17 2008, 04:37 PM) Congratulations orko! crelf is glad that orko finally pulled his head out of his arse and joined the fold crelf also wants orko to know that needs to pay a small "shipping" fee of $US11.99 http://www.cafepress.com/lavagroup.167983549' rel='nofollow' target="_blank">here and his "complimentary" mug will arrive in 1-2 weeks

    cluster

QUOTE (reem @ Apr 17 2008, 04:50 PM) You don't assign a datatype to a cluster - a cluster is a group of datatypes which can be mixed. QUOTE (reem @ Apr 17 2008, 04:50 PM) signal taken from the body goes to DAQ card and from there to lab view to be sampled , displayed and to be sent to the internet via "web publishing tool". Sounds like you're trying to do something quote ambitious for someone who hasn't programmed in LabVIEW before. Seriously: take some time now (I'm talking about at least a week, not just 3 hours) to learn LabVIEW basics. If you do that now then you'll save a *lot* of tome later. What you're trying to do now is learn the language based on a task - I'm suggesting that you need to learn a little about the language first. I noticed that this thread's subtitle is "URGENT!" - if you try to rush through this I garuntee that it won't end well...
