  1. maybe this example can help you. you have to change the parsing string to detect "your" string. It should look like: 0R2,Ta=%f,Ua=%fP,Pa=%fH\r\n (or similar ...)
  2. whow :-) I LIKE german beer ;-) (as I told you my favourite is "Andechser" [est. 1455 ...])

    FP.Origin

yes, I can confirm that. And I don't understand why NI took out this featrue? This missing property is allmost a bug in my eyes ...
  4. oops It's good to see, I am not the only one, who sometimes likes to threaten this dumb brick with a chainsaw: "PRINT, or you will regret it" hmm ... alfa, I guess, he will simply count you to the other 97,9% (SCNR) <BIGGRINN> cheers, CB
  5. yes, you got me right. that was the option thank you!
  6. Irene, I work as a freelancer, too. I think it's the hard way, e.g. last year I worked 38 weeks as a resident engineer away from home at 4 different companies, you have to solve all problems on you own. Scedule time? if you speak in terms like "ok, one weekend in the month is free for book keeping", I can agree. The german translation is "selbstst
  7. hey, cool! thanks a lot. Can this be used for debugging, too, eg. on RT Systems?
  8. I just stumbled uppon that: create a blank VI in LV 8 with a Disable Structure in the BD and save it to LV 7.1. Open it with LV 7.1 and "voila" - there it is. then you can copy it to the places in the BD where you need it. there are two drawbacks: - no help - if you have buggy code inside the disable structure it will NOT be ignored unlike to LV 8 (--> broken RUN arrow)... while playing around with the "new feature" I stumbled uppon a totaly strange thing: ehm ... although this entry was in my right click menu - maybe since years, I recognized that just a few minutes ago. The LV help is not realy detailed, but it gives you a hint, that it has something to do with FileIO ... What is this? How is it used and what is it good for? Has anyone ever used this feature? By the way: where again is that setting, that an dropped sub-vi is expanded?

Note to self: Do not forget to post the above message to prevent a time paradox and the destruction of the Universe. ROFL! :wipe of the tears: by the way: I encapsulated that time paradoxon in save quotes, so nobody can be harmed!

I agree with Einstein. Sometimes it's hard to see how stuid humans can be. Best example: drug addicts. They know they kill themselfes, but don't stop it anyway. hmm, and I guess, the recruiter was right. It's no good idea to apply for a job with a thesis, which can offend other people. On the other hand, it's allways hard and sometimes a disadvantage to have a mind of one's own. did'n your tricorder warn you that you IMMEDIATELY have to recalibrate your sensor phalanx and the deflector shield? WHAT rubbish do they sell in outer space? I advise you to use only outer space aprooved german hevy duty equipment, which is simply the best, money can buy in the whole universe ... BTW: does one notice, that I am currently working on a very boring project?

by the way: some years ago, I had a job in Italy near Milano. The company I was working for paid the business class flights (german companies only pay economy ...), they invited me to a dinner, that was marvelous (I will never forgett these gnochi in sage butter .... yummy) and picked my up at the airport with a car with driver and brought me back, just in time to get my plane. That was a real convenient business trip
  12. Thanks a lot  and I forgot to mention, that you need a DAQ-board with fast DIOs to use this example. A M-series with about 1MS/s will do!

I unblocked him, too, again, it's too funny ;-) ok. lets come to the details: you say germans are stupd. I would rather say, most of all germans are stupid. My proposal to our government in 2003 to solve this issue was: add something to the water that will kill all people with an IQ below 95. They declined, because (of course they did not want to die themselfes), they were afraid of the health of the fast growing yoga community near Bad Meinberg coming back to your book: I am sorry, to tell you the truth. It was not you, that created god. I created myself from the deepest energies, actualy taken from a piece of interstellar atomic dust. BTW: are you involved in yogic hedgehopping?
  15. it seems, that is a common task for students to control DV-Motors. IF you need a PWM Signal, maybe this example helps you.
  16. if you think it's important, you can come to europe on 4th may 2006, because our common date pattern is DD.MM.YY. OT: again an abbrevation. Maybe we should open an LAT (Lava Abrevations Thread) and collect them?

but alfa is much more fun then HHs but in a way I can understand him. every time, I workd 16+ hours at the computer, programming labview, my brain feels like "the time is not trilinear", too for all german speaking germany here: "was interessiert mich die analogie der antropologischen fundamentalhermeneutik? f
  19. That's excactly the point. I experienced NI business tactics twice and was personally affected. As you maybe know, I was an employee at National Instruments Services, which is in basic a mix of the former Datalog (the company, which invented DASYLab) and GfS (the company, which invented DIADem). that's exactly the way NI prepared the take-over of the Datalog and GfS. The managers (and owners) got mail from the NI lawyers, and after some time, in which they got to realize their hopeless position, they got an offer they could not resist. My first thought was: poor Michael, I'd rather like to fight with an mad hellhound than cross the way of the NI lawyer squad (as my last boss said: "... ther lawyers were better then ours ... as you see ... well ...") me, too, of course! I am Software Developer! hmmm ... ok, got me ... now I am premium member ...
  20. ok, 3 days later, my blood preasure is coming to a normal level, I can turn the pacemaker off and inform the romanian human-rights specialists, that I don't need the 3 pairs of concrete boots ... Holy Sh*t ... Michael!
  21. I just like to squatter my 250th post to attatch: how can content be bought, that is published under the commons creative license? some lawyers around here? I am REALLY p*ssed OFF! (sorry, I could have chosen polite, respectful words, but since I am a person, who is used to say what I think, I did not ...)
  22. hmm ... I don't think it's a joke, I think, that's the point: every developer who has sfficient experience in LV programming to think: "that" could be done with a tool, has his very own style, how to archice his/hers goal in LV. Thus a tool needs to fit that "special needs" and it's unlikely, that others work exactpy the same way. And for my part, I would rather develop my own tool, but use one, that does not exactly fit my needs. In Germany there is a saying: "the farmer does not eat, what he doesn't know" ... and I think it fits well into this topic. If you want to use tools from the tools network, you have to download them, evaluate them, and probably, the will not provide the result, you expected. Maybe you could alter them, but in the most cases, it's difficult to work in someone elses code ... The Tunnel Wiring Wizard is a good example for a "working tool release": the task is simple (wiring the other cases of the state machine, when you add a shift register), the usage is simple, and many people had that "problem" before. My "Project renamer" is a good example for a "not working tool release", because it would force a change in the "basic project creation" process ...
  23. hey, but it's interesting how good that "pyhcoanalysis" fit's to the personalities ...
