  3. QUOTE(rolfk @ Dec 11 2007, 04:56 PM) Actually, it's because I've been absolutely flat ou at work I've recently changed positions at V I Engineering, Inc - I'm now the Chief Software Architect, and I've been busy during the transition period. That said, my new position will afford me even more time to work on technical solutions, ergo bother you good people here at LAVA even more PS: I'll be offline for a couple of week - as you suggested, I'm heading home and I'm *gulp* not even taking my laptop with me
  4. If you like Rube Goldberg machines, check out The Incredibnle Machine - one of my favorites from years ago...
  5. QUOTE(TEERANit @ Dec 9 2007, 06:46 PM) You can get a license http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/1385' target="_blank">here.
  6. QUOTE(rolfk @ Dec 9 2007, 12:03 AM) Yep - in fact, I originally wrote the VI to do exactly that (have a look at the VI description ) QUOTE(Justin Goeres @ Dec 8 2007, 04:49 PM) Wow, that's wild. FYI, it's buggy as hell on WindowsXP, at least for the example you showed above (Calculator embedded in Notepad). Lots of weird redraw problems. Yeah - I expect that the UI calls that I used back on Windows 95 have been replaced by more appropriate ones since then.
  7. QUOTE(Norm Kirchner @ Dec 8 2007, 07:26 AM) Merry Christmas! Ho Ho Ho! It's not native, but hopefully it'll do what you're after. I wrote it a *looong* time ago - all care, no responsibility: http://lavag.org/old_files/monthly_12_2007/post-181-1197066047.jpg' target="_blank">
  8. QUOTE(RONIN10 @ Dec 8 2007, 05:06 AM) Awesome! Welcome to LAVA Have a look around - LAVA's not just forums, but also a wiki, a code repository, blogs... (and don't forget to check out the store ) There's also an RSS feed if you'd prefer to use your favorite reader. Enjoy!
  9. QUOTE(neB @ Dec 8 2007, 04:28 AM) I've been skiing on one of those mountains - absolutely breath taking... QUOTE(Neville D @ Dec 8 2007, 04:13 AM) last post from me in a while..!! Off to sunny New Zealand for a month and then 3 days in Sydney after that!!! What dates are you going to be in Oz? I'm going home for a couple of weeks over Christmas (nothing like a 100 degF Christmas day!) - maybe we could catch up for a  ?
  10. QUOTE(Jim Kring @ Dec 7 2007, 12:25 PM) ...and it worked!
  11. QUOTE(Jim Kring @ Dec 7 2007, 08:45 AM) Don't worry - I'll call next year's thread "LAVA Code Repository Submission of the last month of 2007 and the first 11 months of 2008" QUOTE(Norm Kirchner @ Dec 7 2007, 08:21 AM) Should we state no nominating your own submission? You can nominate your own submission, but you'll have to do the same as all otehr submissions: tell us why you think it's worthy
  12. Does the USB 2.0 version pour faster than the USB 1.1 version? It reminds me of the BXI Chug n' Play standard.
  13. Crazy kiwis!
  14. QUOTE(crelf @ Oct 12 2007, 12:52 AM) Well, the issue still hasn't been resolved, so you unfortunately won't be hearing my blog anytime soon...
  15. We are accepting nominations from all of you for what you consider the best code submitted to the LAVA Code Repository in 2007 (as this is the first year for this award, all Code Repository submissions are eligible). The winner(s) will get a nice award ribbon they can add to the description section of their code download page, as well as instant fame in the wider LabVIEW community! Depending on the nominations, we may have more than one category and we will most likely have more than one winner (for example: best coding style, most usefull code, best use of LVOOP, etc). It's up to you: the categories and awards will depend on the nominations submitted and the reasons given. How do you nominate your favorite submission? Simply post a reply to this thread with the name and link to the LAVAcr code you want to nominate for the best of 2007. Don't forget to include the reason(s) you are nominating it. Nominations close at 5PM PST on the 13th of December, 2007.
  16. QUOTE(Dan Bookwalter @ Dec 7 2007, 06:03 AM) Awesome! I didn't know that you already had a copy and just needed to upgrade your level, not version. Glad to hear it's all good.
  17. QUOTE(Jim Kring @ Aug 31 2007, 01:16 PM) That's so cool it's almost kewl! "If all else fails, yo, rebooooooooot!" He's obviously not really a geek, as he doesn't have a goatee...
  18. QUOTE(Jim Kring @ Dec 7 2007, 05:22 AM) I sure hope that didn't mean there was a problem with "Jim Kring"...
  19. QUOTE(Jo-Jo @ Dec 7 2007, 04:39 AM) This is a really specialised area of LabVIEW - I suggest you call them. You might need to wade through the front-line AEs, but you should be able to talk to someone who knows OpenGL in LabVIEW. QUOTE(Jo-Jo @ Dec 7 2007, 04:39 AM) ...I'm not new to OpenGL, or LabVIEW, (so don't assume that I'm screwing it up in some simple way)... I don't assume it, but I don't necessarily discount it either - we all screw up in simples ways from time to time
  20. QUOTE(Dan Bookwalter @ Dec 7 2007, 02:10 AM) You should be able to download it and register it using a serial that NI gives you - you don't have to wait for the physical disks. You can even use it in eval mode for 30 days or so until you can convince them to give you your serial.
  21. QUOTE(alfa @ Dec 6 2007, 07:47 PM) Don't worry alfa, being wrong and admitting it just means you're part of the 97.7%, just like all the rest of us
  22. QUOTE(Aristos Queue @ Dec 6 2007, 02:37 AM) That's awesome! I couldn't think of anything more evil than creating-a-backup-deletes-everything
  23. QUOTE(Norbac @ Dec 5 2007, 06:05 AM) Sorry, I can't help you, but if you do make something, it'd be great to have it in the http://forums.lavag.org/downloads.html' target="_blank">LAVAcr...
