  1. Too bad it doesn't come in a 3 phase, gold plated contact version http://www.artlebedev.com/everything/vilcus/
  2. QUOTE (orko @ May 28 2008, 12:02 PM) Prom dress, maybe?
  3. Here's a link to the mission homepage: http://phoenix.lpl.arizona.edu/
  4. I took the family to University of Arizona in Tucson (yes, we drove from Phoenix to Tucson to watch Phoenix land on Mars) last weeked to watch the live feed with some of those heading up the science projects for the lander. Pretty intense to watch them sweat it out as the telemetry to touchdown was called off. And then the room exploded in applause and congratulations. Sweet to have been there personally. The next day we went to the Pima Air and Space museum. When we got home the first thing my 9yr old son did was to go the Phoenix home page to call up the images. I also caught him tinkering with LabVIEW 8.5 also. What have I created?
  5. I'll have to wait until the web censors allow YouTube access later to watch it. You'll want to put a gun to your head before the end of this MS video aimed at resellers for MS DOS-5.0 upgrade. Did not verify it's authenticity. http://www.collegehumor.com/video:1774935
  6. The text on the screen is grammatically incomplete, but what is better is the Apple notebook being used
  7. Use strings of 7W Xmas lights around the plants if available to keep them warm. Use throw in a temperature probe, fan, and LabVIEW for a closed loop control. I have the opposite issue- I'm almost ready to start picking, hopefully the 100+ degree days stay away long enough so the pollen doesn't get killed and make it a short harvest. Toby- 75C? Ouch, make that baked green tomatoes
  8. QUOTE (orko @ Apr 16 2008, 01:40 PM) Oops, my bad (dog). I saw that thread but our network crawls to a halt at times and embedded videos and images are hit and miss. So I never did figure out what Chris had posted. -AK2DM
  9. Here Doggy Doggy! Pretty cool autonomous robot. Sorta gives me the creeps like something out of Star Wars. Galloping locomotion towards the end of the clip reminds me of how my goats run. I don't think it can sing Ken Lee though. Native viewer on the page may be a slow and choppy load, better results with downloading then viewing it. http://www.bostondynamics.com/content/sec.php?section=BigDog
  10. I missed da bear. Nice bike Chris. Ahhh, Belle Isle, have not been there in a while. Red Bull Air Racing is coming up soon for Detrioit.
  11. Dan: Are you sure you are reading the correct channel for the pins you are wired up to? That almost looks like 60Hz AC power line noise from an unwired adjacent channel. Peak is less than 7mV (0.007).
  12. Can we change the name of the Lava Lounge to the 'G'-Spot?
  13. We secretly replaced Ron's Mark Super VII Quantum E-meter with a 5KVAC Hi-Pot Tester. The results were of great 'potential'.
  14. Darn Chris: I was expecting to see a pic from a bar on 4th St in Austin. Instead I see a query about Test cable Holders. Try DigiKey #'s 501-1113-ND, 501-1114-ND, and 501-1053-ND (all from Pomona) -AK2DM Edit: I see you already found one. You should get 2 for a nice pair.
  15. I hope that's a typo on the analog input impedance- 2 ohms????? (actually 1Gohm) And the analog out update rate is actually 2Ks/sec, not 100Ks/s. http://www.bb-elec.com/bb-elec/literature/USB-4711.pdf I agree with Dan, spend a little more $, potentially save a lot of time (and frustration).
  16. If the drive signal orignates from a PC, optical or galvanic isolation would be wise on the input stage of the PWM drive.
  17. In addition to any potential reverse flyback/kickback transients, especially if rise and fall times are fast. We need more input.....
  18. What type of load or device are you driving with the 200V PWM? Current requirements?
  19. Alfa + wave = Alfven waves http://www.space.com/scienceastronomy/0801...ine-hinode.html
  20. I have ran it on my 8.2 machine, it does behave odd. 1st run does not work, successive runs work.
  21. I hope there is a manual operation over ride feature. Dead battery = no inside access = unable to pop hood open to get a jump.
  22. Someone obviously was trying to shed a few pounds prior to the holidays here
  23. QUOTE(crelf @ Nov 27 2007, 03:17 PM) DAMN, I was sure that was working all this time. I was also in Reno once and got shot by a stranger, so I feigned death. To this day I have been trying to find out who that guy was....
  24. I once coded in C I once bought one walkie talkie so no one could hear what I was saying
  25. Be aware that an incandescent lamp's resistance changes with temperature. More voltage from the battery will cause the lamp to glow brighter at a higher temperature thus greater resistance, and resistance will fall as voltage becomes less and the lamp is cooler. Thus a non-linear discharge rate results.
