How to prevent the Screensaver from starting
AnalogKid2DigitalMan replied to viSci's topic in Calling External Code
I know this is a Zombie Thread, but we recently had this policy applied at our company. Found out that if Windows Media Player is playing a video or sound clip, the screen saver would never kick in. You can set the player to loop forever. Not a direct solution, but it curiously has worked on 3 of 3 PC's tested. -

Measuring the thickness of ICE
AnalogKid2DigitalMan replied to Michael Aivaliotis's topic in LAVA Lounge
Ahh, Zombie topic, I didn't notice the date either. The thread floated to the top, just like ice! Probably no need to measure ice thickness anymore, since it has melted due to global warming. -

Ultrasonics or pulsed radar ($). Drilling or heated probe insertion depth monitoring until it hits the harder surface. -
As long as the SBC has the required processor speed, memory, video, hard disk space, and the operating system loaded etc, I see no reason why there would be any issues. Look at it this way- most computers today are basically "single board" in terms of the motherboard having on-board video, ethernet, audio, USB/serial/parallel ports, etc. Here is one source of many: http://us.kontron.com/

Why aren't you using the VIE LabVIEW HTML Help Generator?
AnalogKid2DigitalMan replied to crelf's topic in Announcements
Chris: I followed the link and registered, but did not see it on the list of downloads, see attached screenshot. -AK2DM If anyone asks, T&A Engineer is Test and Automation -
Maybe because it is homework related and they can't use exisiting examples that the prof knows about? Just speculation on my part.

"Input parameter is invalid..." on built EXE launch
AnalogKid2DigitalMan replied to Justin Goeres's topic in LabVIEW General
QUOTE(crelf @ Oct 8 2007, 10:52 AM) Makes a great background for your desktop, I might add -
QUOTE(vronto31 @ Oct 9 2007, 10:50 AM) I'm suprised it held out to 800mV. According to the specs: http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/371011c.pdf it can only drive up to +/-5mA. Your 50 ohm load is way to small for the card to drive it (too little resistance). Thus when it cannot supply the current, the voltage will level off.

Blaupunkt's Benny and Bunny
AnalogKid2DigitalMan replied to AnalogKid2DigitalMan's topic in LAVA Lounge
QUOTE(xtaldaz @ Sep 6 2007, 01:40 PM) Ah, now I remember. I knew there was someone around here with a bunny icon, and I figured you'd come out of the woodwork and reply sometime. I hope the avatars used protection, I wonder what a rabbear or bearbit would look like... -
Here's a video clip, an ad for Blaupunkt. You can find the Bunny and Benny clips here: http://www.blaupunkt.com/us/infotainment.asp 'Poft Sorn'? Ben: It's 2PM, do you know where your avatar is?

This is too Bizarro. I did not create this listing. My coworker ran across it while doing some job research for his daughter. A printout of it was on my desk this afternoon. Knew I had to put a link to in this thread. One of the requirements is "Experience with 5-12 physical dimensions is preferred but not required." 4-Dimensional Universe Seeking Experienced Deity. Need xcontrol examples for niweek presentation
AnalogKid2DigitalMan replied to Michael Aivaliotis's topic in NIWeek
QUOTE(yen @ Jul 24 2007, 03:58 AM) Nope. After a while I gave up, especially when it was auto scheduling and found a bunch of conflicts. I ended up printing the conference program and jotting in days/times by hand. -
Not to butt in, after all this is the 5th dimension which seems to expand tangentially... What if life were discovered elsewhere in the universe. Any form of life- from microbial to sentient beings? Whose God(s) would totally refute such a possibility? Whose God(s) would claim responsibility? Could throw one heck of a curveball to use humans residing on this rock we claim as planet Earth (which once was viewed as the center of the heavens)

You could also use a solenoid that retracts when power is applied to it. Spring load the door to open when the solenoid latch pulls in. Is this to keep Ken out of Barbi's private place?

QUOTE(crelf @ May 30 2007, 02:18 PM) Looks like OpenG has beat them. I was just browsing the OpenG pallette. Under the OpenG String Tools, there is a function called to Camel Case. Hmmmm...

QUOTE(Eugen Graf @ May 30 2007, 12:22 PM) I wonder if Lapview supports native G strings?

One step closer to "The Minority report" style interface. I thinks it's pretty cool, but not ready for mainstream users yet as they state. And Microsoft has secretly bought S.C. Johnson & Sons, makers of Windex.

Viewpoint was written in LV6.1 nearly 4 years ago, costs $1000. Looks like they are an NI Alliance Partner. Here's a link to the manual: http://www.viewpointusa.com/6K%20VI%20Moti...er%20Manual.pdf Their vi's appear to be fairly well written on the surface, at least they use error clusters and have a concept of data flow, unlike N*wport! Personally, I would start on my own, if I made little headway then $1000 is worth it. I use the 6K in a couple systems here, but all under native Compumotor language (no LV (yet))
