Yes sorta, but you shouldn't need to.  Is there some function that only LIFA has that LINX doesn't?  LINX is the newer version and I'm sure they are trying to have the same function parity between the two toolkits.


That being said one restriction you may find is that you can only use one toolkit on one Arduino at a time.  Each toolkit has its own firmware that gets loaded on the Arduino and I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't compatible. Meaning only LIFA can talk to hardware with the LIFA firmware on it.
