Are you using LabVIEW on Windows Vista?
AnalogKid2DigitalMan replied to Jim Kring's topic in LAVA Lounge

That would be looking into the future and cause a discontinuity in the time-space continuim. It is odd. It may work if you convert timestamps to double, then add the doubles, convert addition to timestamp and then use a timestamp display.

Pretty good  I wonder how the stick man will perform within a Vista environment?

If applicable, you can generate an inverted signal via a simple hardware solution- use an 7404 or similar inverter chip.

yokogawa Wt1600 problem with reading data
AnalogKid2DigitalMan replied to Thang Nguyen's topic in Hardware
As shown in the image, you may need some sort of delay between the write and read functions. -
Inhale the ether and indeed you'll experience some experiences. Best left for use as it's intended pupose nowdays- starting engines on a cold day.

Calling a .NET dll from Labview
AnalogKid2DigitalMan replied to jaehov's topic in Calling External Code
There are also .NET examples that ship with LabVIEW- Search the Example Finder for .NET. There is also discussion within the built-in LabVIEW Help, again search for .NET -
Could it be a timeout error, maybe due to network traffic, that LV can't get access to the file in a given time so it flags an error? Just a thought.

If the other channels are not connected to anything, their readings will tend to 'float' around the values of adjacent channel(s). This is due to the high input impedance on the front end of the analog to digital converter and the inherent capacitance of the input stage. The capacitance charges up and holds the voltage since there is hardly any path for it to discharge into.

Could you write all the data first and then lastly write the header by setting the file pointer to the begining of the file?

Crelf: You need a short wave radio with a good long wire (not the LabVIEW kind ). You can hear BBC straight from London any time. With luck you may be able to pick up some Australian stations. I don't think the 5th dimension will affect your reception -AK2DM

Look under the Help menu in LabVIEW, you should find a lot of resources there regardless of version 7.x or 8.x that you are using.

send email and sms...help
AnalogKid2DigitalMan replied to eerc's topic in Remote Control, Monitoring and the Internet
You can subscribe to a web service and probably do sms. Xmethods has a host of services, search SMS at this link: http://www.xmethods.net/ve2/Directory.po;j...JqUIB(QHyMHiRM) Here is a link for using services in 8.2 http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/4728 And for 7.0 and 8.0 http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/4729 I tried one of the services in 8.2 to dial my cell and read aloud a message that was text. All in about 10 minutes with never using web services- pretty cool. Hope this helps -
