I am playing with GitHub as a possible replacement for our current SCC tool.

Do you guys use Git or GitHub?  What client app do you use?  Any recommendations?

I am specifically leaving the topic scope open, so feel free to praise/rant/headscratch.

I've been using Mercurial and bitbucket.org, for the last couple of months. Command line hg and TortoiseHg both work fine. I do not use the built-in LV SCC. No Git experience. Have you seen the Git User Group on NI.com? https://decibel.ni.com/content/groups/git-user-group?view=blog

Thanks for pointing me to that group.

I am hoping not to have to learn CLI scripting (and especially not company-wide), so I am really looking for a client with a great UI.

Not to detract, I don't have much knowledge about Git(hub), but HG + RhodeCode provides a nice interface and you have complete control over the server rather than trusting the 3rd party to host it for you.  Not that BitBucket isn't also nice.

Jeremy,

What's your current SCC tool ? Are there specific issues that are forcing you to look to replacing it ?

I have used a combination of VSS and Subversion over the past 4 years however Jack Dunaway convinced me to take a look at GitHub during the CLA Summit in Austin and so far my experience has been all positive.

I was looking for a hosted solution with a nice interface.
