  1. I understand. I'm not suggesting that the unintended consequences are known, just that there will be some. I'm just suggesting that the unstated intended consequence (wealth transfer, power grab) is enough to get our rulers to not care.
  2. Don't forget about the unstated, but intended, consequences. I suspect that, often, the unintended consequences are anticipated but ignored because of these. Where's my tin-foil hat? PS - You responded without being unkind; I usually come across as a jerk. I've self-diagnosed my condition as Economic/Political Tourett Syndrome.
  3. During run-time? I don't believe so because that would (I've read) require a recompile. Darin.K posted a solution to the opposite question (How to export image from picture ring) here. That might help.
  4. I don't think that property is exposed, so I thought I'd be clever... ... but the formatting doesn't follow when changing the control back to a constant. I should have tried it manually first; it doesn't work that way either.
  5. I'm happy with my svn repository on xp-dev.com. I've been using them on and off for a few years.
  6. All IP. If I own a piece of metal and cut it into a shape that [you believe] 'belongs' to you, I've legally 'stolen' something from you. I think this is absurd.
  7. This is parallel to my favorite argument against "Intellectual Property".
  8. I downloaded it and got a zip file, not a vip. What do I do?
  9. Arduino+LabVIEW Bundle at Sparkfun.com mentioned in the Idea Exchange here. I just bought this for my son (we're going to have our own little middle-school version of Waterloo Labs).
  10. I expect that my company can make a claim to the things I've done in the LAVA CR, but I've already released them to the community and you can't unring a bell.
  11. Thanks. I'll be looking at it right away. That's typically how I work with databases, anyway.
  12. Use the GetSnippet RCF plugin to extract snippets in LabVIEW 8.2 and above
  13. That made me smile. I just had to try it.
  14. I recall that a P-C architecture was more complicated than necessary for my exam and the practice problems. It might have led you into using references/property nodes unnecessarily.
  15. I'm not clear on your problem, but I see that you don't respond to events for anything except the 'Shutdown' boolean. The Case Structure in your consumer loop is looking for the 'Consumer Command' from the producer, which never comes.
  16. For every one egg you eat from a pastured hen, you would also have to eat three factory eggs to get the same amount of vitamin E and five for as much vitamin D. All the while, each additional conventional egg you eat will be giving you one third more cholesterol.

I love our chickens for the eggs they give us.

  17. ...as it should be. :)

  18. Que` pasa? I am able to use the tool, but installing it wasn't clean. I like the way you think
  19. Here's how I found all Free Labels on all Block Diagrams below one top-level VI: Then, I looped through them looking for the tag I was interested in: Be careful while scripting, not because of the "rusty nails" but more because it could be more fun than what you're supposed to be working on...
